This is completely unacceptable. Rubbish as deep as 20 ft and 500 ft long dumped into the River Cherwell in Oxfordshire. I’ve never seen a disgusting sight like this in England before. A first world country should never look like this.

Flag sha*ging patriots are now bullying and intimidating elderly residents who don’t want Union Jacks raised outside their houses.

A year has passed, and life is still on hold. On this day a year ago, Iman and Layan were playing in front of our tent. Today, the same scene repeats itself, but in a new place of displacement, a new tent, and with the same lack of basic needs. A year goes by, and the theft of childhood continues. gofund.me/b7fa0a9a

NEW -- We obtained Tzipi Hotovely's diary. It reveals how pro-Israel lobbyists, Labour party donors and businessmen have been meeting with the Israeli ambassador in London throughout the Gaza genocide. My latest with @alex_macondo in @declassifiedUK: declassifieduk.org/revealed-…

You actively chose to fire as many scientists working for the federal government as possible and have even taken weather balloons out of the sky. These were people who dedicated their lives to this stuff and you fired them so you could do tax cuts. You do not now get to complain that weather forecasts are off. Please go find these girls and rehire these scientists.

Water company lobbyists tried to get away with over-inflating the cost of public ownership. Listen to @ewan_mg explain why it could, in fact, be close to £0.

EXCLUSIVE: 45 MPs have shown support for Jeremy Corbyn's Gaza Inquiry Bill, which calls for an independent investigation into Britain's complicity in Israel's war crimes in Gaza.

This letter, in today’s Times, stopped me in my tracks. The assisted dying Bill will affect all of society, in ways that have barely been considered.

This is a seminal moment: a Labour government cutting disability benefits. Not just continuing Tory levels. Cutting. This comes after a week of speculation, itself an act of cruelty by a government toying with people’s dignity. These cuts are disgraceful - and will cost lives.

Hi sensible centrists. Is this what you voted for? Is this what you smeared and sabotaged Corbyn and the left to achieve? Well is it? When are we going to get an apology from you for inflictingt this horror on us? Is it today? #ItWasAScam
🚨 BREAKING: Labour will cut £7bn from the NHS, reports the Times, telling the NHS to "get a grip". NHS boss Jim Mackey (with support from Streeting) has ordered NHS trusts to slash £6.6bn from budgets. (Via @TheTimes)

While everyone’s attention is being zapped away by all the Chaos of Trump, this study was published today, on catastrophic losses in butterfly species abundance across the US. “Between 2000 and 2020, total butterfly abundance fell by 22% across the 554 recorded species.” 😔

These “YIMBYS” are free market fundamentalists masquerading as affordable housing advocates. It’s the same logic as those who say abolishing the min wage will lead to more employment, or that tax cuts lead to more investment, or that regulating companies hurts growth. We need to set extremely high social housing requirements for new housing developments, which have two possible outcomes: 1. if house building continues apace, we’re left with more public housing 2. if it leads to a slow down in house building then land values fall and councils can buy land at cut rate prices and build more public housing A win-win

38 appearances from Nigel Farage and a staggering dominance of right-wing figures on #BBC's Question Time while progressive voices are silenced. MSM has become a mouthpiece for bigotry and racists, ignoring the real voices of the public. This isn’t balance, it’s bias.

Whilst Heathrow report authors, Frontier Economics, isn’t an explicitly ideological organisation, its methods & clientele suggest a neoliberal-friendly stance rather than a challenge to neoliberal economics. Hence, I’d take @NEF assessments of Heathrow over these guys any day.

This wildly misleading tweet, and the mostly hateful replies, is like entering an alternate version of reality. If anybody is interested in the truth behind this claim, and what that Swedish poll actually asked, I'll go through it. Probably banging my head against a wall. 😂

Heathrow expansion backed, stricter tax on non-doms out, deregulation back in fashion - all in the name of growth. This raises a fundamental question: whose growth are we talking about? Read my article for @guardian theguardian.com/commentisfre…
