Something I've been wondering for a while now - given the capabilities of AI development, how are software component businesses such as ComponentOne and Syncfusion going to survive?

I'm normally not a fan of people saying they one-shotted something with AI, but I am seriously impressed with @FreebuffHQ - This really is one-shot (Deepseek 4.1 Flash running in balanced mode):

So, I've been rapidly prototyping an app in Electron. Decided to port it to C# (builds a lot quicker than Rust). Like for like screens: Electron version runs at 138MB. C# version runs at 13MB.

Watching Mortal Kombat II. There’s no film that Karl Urban can’t make better.

Had one of those amusing misheard moments this morning. It was a noisy room and I asked a woman if she was Coeliac. Her reply was gold. “I’m Tiffany”.

Seems legit. Honestly, if you can't trust an Indonesian government official emailing you on behalf of Elon Muk, who can you trust?

I've been looking at adding "in-app" help for an app I'm writing and it came to me that it must be 20 years ago that I last looked at tooling for writing help files. Help files on Windows were a dark art.

Time to revisit an oldie.

So, an emergency government alert triggered on our phones about the heat. I feel sorry for anyone who is sitting somewhere where absolute silence was expected.

Well, I have been running freebuff.com/ all day now. So far, I've been suitably impressed. I threw a complex product at it, and it has churned away building it for me. This is good stuff.

I use a lot of AI tooling. I have to admit, I completely missed @CodebuffAI but now I have signed up. The idea here is completely free AI tooling, with the only "catch" being that they show ads - this is where they get their revenue. So far, it's been plain sailing...

I've given it the brief based on a product I built years ago and it's churning away building using DeepSeek. I'm impressed with the speed of responses. As this is a big brief, it will be churning through what would have taken a lot of Claude credits.

Given AI's incessant ego-tickling of "what a great idea", are we going to see future generations move from impostor syndrome to Dunning Kruger?

This is a valid easter egg question. I hadn't noticed that they had stopped but now that Millie has said this, I can't remember the last time I saw it.

I love it when experts hit back hard.
Thanks I wrote a book on Russia and Iran as well as a PHD on the topic, plus multiple publications about the strategic partnership agreement. When I said defense I was speaking about a mutual defense pact but go ahead and share the Wikipedia page with me.

You know you have fully switched from engineering to management when you talk about things in terms of Return on Investment instead of how cool it is to build. Heaven help me.
