Trump appears to be unraveling live on stage “When I say insane asylums, and then I say, Doctor Hannibal Lecter, does anybody know? They go crazy. They say, oh, he brings up these names out of— Well, that's genius. Right. Doctor Hannibal Lecter. There's nobody worse than him. Silence of the Lambs. Who the hell else would even remember that? I have a great memory, but they always hit me. I don't bring it up too much because they have to take such a— he brought up Hannibal Lecter. What does that have to do with this? What is it? It has everything to do with it, right? He was… So I've done something for you for you that I haven't done in 20 speeches. I brought up Doctor Hannibal Lecter and we're allowing him, you watch, you watch these fake people will say again, he brought up Hannibal Lecter has absolutely nothing to do. You know I do the weave, right? The weave. It's genius. You bring up Hannibal Lecter, you mention insane asylum. Hannibal Lecter. You go out, no. There'll be a time in life where the weave won't finish properly at the bottom and then we can talk. But right now it's pure genius. Hey, I have an uncle, my uncle, Uncle John, my father's brother, 41 years at MIT, longest serving professor has so many degrees, he didn't know what the hell to do with them all in the most complicated. I understand a lot of this stuff, you know, I believe in that. Like, I mean, Jack Nicklaus is not gonna produce a bad golfer. Right. You know, that's the way it works. It's just one of those things and it's in the family and it's whatever”

We're restoring rail service to the Gulf Coast. The Biden-Harris Administration is investing in passenger rail at historic levels. Now are are reconnecting communities from New Orleans to Mobile for the first time since Hurricane Katrina with new and improved Gulf Coast Rail.

I would not want this guy in charge of the TV remote, much less the US government. There is something deeply cognitively wrong with this guy.

You really, really should not trust audio clips anymore Even a couple months ago, it used to take a commercial service to clone a voice. No more. Here is me creating a voice clone of myself using just a 10 second reference clip on my home computer This is all real time, no cuts

It's such a minor point but I cannot stop thinking that Trump casually calling the head of Taliban "Abdul" is a perfect mix of his ignorance, racism and senility in just a single word.

A key point missing in a lot of post debate analysis is that Trump’s claim about immigrants eating pets almost perfectly syncs up to the piano in the Peanuts theme song.

I’ve been testing the implications of the Grok AI model. So far: 1. It has given me instructions on how to make a fertilizer bomb with exact measurements of contents as well as how to make a detonator. 2. It has allowed me to generate imagery of Elon Musk carrying out mass shootings. 3. It has given me clear instructions on how to carry out a mass shooting and a political assassination (including helpful tips on how to conceal a 11.5” barreled AR15 into a secured venue.) I just want to be clear. This AI model has zero filter or oversight measures in place. If you want an image of Elon Musk wearing a bomb vest in Paris with ISIS markings on it, it will make it for you. If you are planning on orchestrating a mass shooting towards a school, it will go over the specifics on how to go about it. All without filter or precautionary measures.

I'm a registered Democrat in Texas. After seeing several other posts, I checked my registration. I'm "suspended." It says I can still vote if I update my information (it's already correct) but this has never happened in my 20 years of voting in Texas. Check your registration.

Didn't like the way this @JDVance1 bloke (newly picked as #Trump's running mate) slagged off the UK lately. Looked into him. Not great. Made a parody song inspired by @ABBA called "Vance VP" 🎶 Shout out #americast (@BBCsarahsmith/@awzurcher) & @RestIsPolitics for ℹ️ profiles 👍

1/ Let’s try a thought experiment. Suppose you heard that in another country, a defeated former president who had attempted a coup was granted immunity for that coup by six Supreme Court judges, half of whom he had appointed; that this attempted coup included a widely-televised, deadly assault on the nation’s capitol intended to prevent the certification of his defeat in the last election; and that the Court’s immunity ruling came just months before a next election in which this defeated president is once again a candidate, seeking to recover the powers he previously abused. What would you expect the focus of news reports about that Supreme Court’s ruling to be? a) Debating whether the ruling itself aligns with the history and traditions of that nation’s legal system, or b) Explaining the Court’s role in an ongoing authoritarian coup.
