Nigel, this is an astonishing misunderstanding of British history. For 500 years, from Henry VIII and Elizabeth I through Marlborough, Pitt, Palmerston and Churchill, Britain's grand strategy was to prevent any single power dominating Europe. We did so through alliances, diplomacy, intervention and, when necessary, war. We fought Spain, Louis XIV, Napoleon and Hitler not to withdraw from Europe, but to shape its balance of power. The EU was the modern, peaceful expression of that strategy. Instead of balancing France and Germany from outside, Britain sat alongside them, exercising power from within. We were one of Europe's three great political powers. Brexit voluntarily surrendered that influence while leaving us exposed to European decisions. You appear to think British foreign policy was about keeping foreigners out. It was actually about keeping Britain powerful. That's the difference between understanding 500 years of statecraft and mistaking the English Channel for a foreign policy.

How ban Brexit have destroy 500 years of foreign policy? The EU isn’t 500 years old. Britain has gad to fight for independence from European powers and treason at home for centuries. Joining the EU was an aberration and was only supposed to be free trade.

Five points on the road. A bonus-point win at the RAG, and a proper away performance from this group. Now we take the week off, recharge, and go again. Thank you to everyone who travelled and everyone who watched in the clubhouse. #RotherhamTitans #TitansRugby #ChampRugby

This is how small tactical gains trigger large strategic losses. Musk wanted to punish Ukraine, but he shot himself in the foot. The lesson the world has recently learned is that it is suicidal to depend on any American resource, be it technological, military, or political.

If Musk is responsible for weakening Ukraine's defenses at this critical time, his businesses need to be excluded from any critical infrastructure in Europe. Not as a sanction, but as self-protection.

I'm more excited about the potential Dacia Hipster than I am about two hypercars, especially as one of them is possibly vapourware...

Hugely worrying that we could end up moving to an inclusion at all costs approach. The line that exclusions is a failure on the part of schools is hugely lazy. No one wants to ideally exclude but sometimes there’s no choice. Schools have to be safe environments.

The war in Ukraine is the greatest fight for sovereignty and freedom in the 21st century so far. The tragedy of Trump changing sides and backing autocratic Russia instead of democratic Ukraine will go down in history as one of America's biggest foreign policy mistakes ever.

US has not spent $350B on Ukraine. It has spent $132B, $33B of that is money. The rest is $21B in loans, repaid from frozen Russian assets, $4B in humanitarian aid, and the vast majority, $74B is military equipment. Half that equipment is new, made in the US. The other half is old stockpile equipment, which soon would have had to be demilitarized at great cost. The replacement equipment is made in the US, so the money stays in the US.
Meanwhile, the EU and European countries have spent a combined $271B, more than twice as much as the US.

I understand the laws and why they are there But when a player is unable to continue due to a HIA, it doesn’t seem particularly fair to punish the team by removing another player.
77' IMPACT PLAYER ⬅️ Isgro, Hobson on ➑️ Cunningham-South, Treadwell, Bradley off Due to Riley's yellow card & going to uncontested scrums (because of Walker's failed HIA), Quins must drop a player, and bring on an additional front row forward. 🦈 28-24 πŸƒ #COYQ

It’s been reported that the US has told Zelenskyy to stop striking Russia’s oil refineries, or the US will shut down its intelligence sharing with Ukraine. There you have it folks. The US is now formally aligned with Russia. Whatever Putin has on Trump must be unimaginable.

Today, Russia expressed its thanks for the lifting of sanctions on diesel exports by dropping five glide bombs on residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia. As of now, sadly, twelve people have been confirmed killed, including three children. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. Another fourteen people have been injured, and two of them are in critical condition – the doctors are fighting to save their lives. The status of twelve more people who may have been there is still being verified. All emergency services are at the scene, and search-and-rescue operations are underway. Overnight, thirteen of our regions came under attack. Residential buildings, infrastructure, and railway facilities have been damaged. Last night confirmed once again that in Russia, they take any easing of pressure to mean they can keep fighting, to mean they can keep dropping bombs on cities. Different signals are needed. Russia must understand that it needs to stop the war, and for that to happen, Russia must feel its losses. Right now, it is our long-range capabilities that are ensuring this. And we will respond to Russian strikes. I thank everyone who is helping.

‼️If you're in the US and you're wondering why your diesel engine sounds weird, what you're hearing is the sound of dying Ukranian children. No mechanic can fix that.
