I used to have lunch with my manager almost every day.
Out of everyone in the office, I was probably one of the people he trusted the most.
We’d eat together, joke about work, and he’d even tell me things he didn’t share with the rest of the team.
Then one afternoon I walked into the restroom…
And accidentally noticed something I wish I never had.
After using the toilet, he simply grabbed some tissue, washed his hands, and walked out.
No water.
Nothing else.
I know people grow up differently, and I wasn’t trying to judge him…
But where I come from, we’ve always been taught that toilet paper alone isn’t enough.
For some reason, I couldn’t get that image out of my head.
The next day, when lunch came around…
I made an excuse and left the office.
Then I did the same thing the day after.
