Shot in @DeathValleyNPS
Hey, so I've got a photography book coming out.
It's called Dark Skies: Rare Phenomena in America's Public Lands and is a love letter to the NPS.

This book means a lot to me. Even if no one buys it, I'm 100% OK with that - I've gotten all the joy out of making the thing.
BUT, if you did want to buy it, you can preorder it. It comes out Winter 2025.
Shout out to @TamithaSkov - without her videos I wouldn't have gotten this shot of the aurora last night. It came just before sunrise in Apostle Islands, WI. I tweaked the brightness and contrast, but I didn't touch the color.

Had a blast making this composite of the path of the #EclipseSolar over @canyonlandsnps
I used a @CanonUSA 5D Mark IV, a 100-400mm lens, and a 2x extender.

I took this photo looking at the White Rim Overlook and the La Sal Mountains with the Canyons below.

It was so cool to watch the moon slide across the sun's disc for nearly 3 hours today. People cheered at first contact, roared at the totality, and I stuck around till the bitter end to get this composite of photos taken every 15 minutes. #EclipseSolar2023 #EclipseSolarAnular
It's multiple exposures, & I changed the white balance to better reflect the color of the ring of fire. I used a @CanonUSAimaging 5D Mark IV, 100-400mm lens, and 2x extender.

This is what the eclipse looked like at 800mm of focal length in @CanyonlandsNPS #EclipseSolarAnular #ecli
I took this photo from a spot just north of the White Rim Overlook trail. It's a single exposure, and I changed the white balance to better reflect the color of the ring of fire. I used a @CanonUSA 5D Mark IV, a 100-400mm lens, and a 2x extender. jeffpfaller.com/products/ann…
I used a @Canon 5D Mark IV and a 24-70mm lens.
Let me know what you think!
.I exposed the foreground, the eclipse, and the sun spikes separately from the same location, and then composited them together after darkening the sky to add drama.
