This debate over whether AI-assisted research and writing should be permitted in journal submissions is confounding. I’ve had a journal editor tell me as a referee to reconsider a submission from their former graduate student’s spouse. So much monkey business…

I went to grad school w an interesting fella, he wrote his diss on Heidegger and the disposable, yelled at everyone in the seminar room w a styrofoam cup, became a Jesuit, now he’s begging the Pope to become a layperson….why? Bc he fell in love w a woman and wants to get laid

Boy how the self-righteous fall and fall hard, I wish him the best and hope the woman he loves doesn’t treat him like a styrofoam cup

One of my papers was plagiarized when I was a doctoral student by a postdoctoral scholar at a major research institute (Kettering), I was applying for a predoctoral fellowship, institute scholars interviewed me, asked how I came up w these ideas, less than a year later published

Not much I could do, just told others, but most who heard my story were skeptical and couldn’t believe that this more senior scholar would steal my work, well she did, and she’s never been held accountable for it

We find that teaching or research experience is less helpful in administration than experience working in senior care or child care, preferably both.

First Charlie Kirk. Then a professor assaults a journalist on a university campus. Inspired by Lynne Tirrell’s thesis that words are weapons (toxic speech metaphor). Political violence and incivility are now perfectly acceptable among the professoriate.

Chris Hayes has always struck me as a faux intellectual. But tbh he's a worse journalist open.substack.com/pub/drshan…
Chris Hayes @chrislhayes looks like a giant anthropomorphic contraceptive. He's actually morphing into a post-menopausal woman with saggy breasts and pear-shaped ass.
