I'm back to the job market, quite bad timing tbf but, if you know of any remote work openings please let me know.

Road to Tama is quite big that was cool to visualise it in different way, kanban also available: github.com/users/pikax/proje…

I do a lot of work in branches and freezing main branch, might look the project has not been worked on for many weeks or months. I've created a roadmap for 0.1.0 version codename "tama", I expect the version to be somewhat stable. Still months ahead. github.com/users/pikax/proje…

Added nice bars and improving validation, to make sure even if a tool is faster it also must be able to pass the tests too. github.com/pikax/vue-benchma…

Just released verter on version 0.0.1-beta.3 🎉 Things are sorta working, not perfect but the direction is what I want, in terms of performance is fast but vize seems to be faster, I'll provide the benchmarks later. I'll be focusing in fixing bugs. github.com/pikax/verter

wrapping up verter changes, need to review and then plan the merge, by next week it should be merged. I expect it to be broken for a few releases, but the cadence will be much faster, has been 4months since I start working in this branch :D

after many delays, a new version is close to be released for verter :) still a massive review needs to be done, so it will still take a bit longer, I hope it will be worth it.

My Claude x20 runs out in 2 days of working :( Hopefully it won't take much longer to unveil the new verter changes. 3 months since the last commit does not show the whole story, a lot of work is happening in the background, it just takes time, performance and DX are my priority

Let’s use this opportunity to push for Native Rust Plugins!
To answer a common question - why not make React Compiler a plugin? It all comes down to practical trade-offs. Making it a rust-based plugin is already significantly faster than the Babel version (up to 15x), but still 50% slower than direct-in-oxc due to the data passing / AST cloning overhead for being a plugin. This is also different from e.g. Vue or Svelte where there are completely different AST formats; the React Compiler works on a JS/JSX AST that Oxc already supports (with only slight format differences). By integrating it in Oxc we can eliminate a lot of the AST cloning / transforming overhead, which isn't feasible for other frameworks. It'd be a shame to leave such a big perf opportunity on the table. We are also fully aware of how integrating it will result in bigger binary size for users who don't use React Compiler, which is why I personally blocked the version that resulted in a ~5mb increase. We are aiming to get it down to a reasonable level while optimizing binary size across the board to minimize the downside. For the long run, we are aiming to make raw AST transfer (which is already used in oxlint JS plugins) applicable to transform plugins. This would allow us to ship oxc plugins without AST cloning perf overhead.

Since this is a completely new replacement, we still need some time to ensure all edge cases are resolved. With the help of AI, we no longer have the excuse of shipping a half-baked product due to a lack of manpower. I’ll do my best to get it right the first time. Vue’s syntax highlighting will be perfect!

Slow and steady that's how I like my AI agents to be working. That's why no updates on Verter I've increased the scope of the project, hopefully for the good but time will tell, once I'm happy with the features my agents are cranking 24/7 I'll release a new beta.

first time getting these low so early, hopefully it can hang 3 more days 🙏

We just solved an epic Vue highlighting bug. `as` type assertions in directive values — `:msg="msg as string"` — have highlighted wrong for years (#520, #2096, #6007...). Not anymore.

Quite a big detour for verter in the last month, hopefully is almost done and can be merged soonish. I blame Daniel for suggesting this at vuejs Amsterdam 2026 🤣 After this detour is done I'll focus on IDE handling and making sure the compiler is up to spec.

What’s interesting about Vize (@ubugeeei), Golar (@auvred_ ), and Verter (@pikax_dev) is that each approaches the problem from completely different angles "tooling-all", "framework-agnostic" (and volar compat), "strictly typed", and that we the authors are on friendly terms, exchanging ideas on the shared foundation of ecosystem research. There is no conflict or hostility at all. We simply “battle test” ideas and improve each other’s accuracy. This is one of the most interesting and most beautiful parts of open source.
