Totally love this idea for a Play Cafe in York - we should all find a few £ to help make it happen crowdfunder.co.uk/dinosaurs-…

Thank you @createsculpt for your brilliant creative intervention in Leeds city centre - just what my wee one needed after being trapped on a warm train from glasgow on way to hospital check up. You are ⭐️ 🌟

I was awake earlier than usual last Sunday morning, literally painting the streets, for the #PlayOutTilTea event near Rotton Park with James Meta Art 🎨🚸 Great to see the smiling faces of youngsters dancing on the road between the colourful shapes.

Before, during and after on Rotton Park Street, Ladywood. No cars here today, just play. A huge thank you to every single person who joined us from down the road, brought their families and friends, those further afield, @playbox002, @UrbanSplash & so many more to #PlayOutTilTea.

We were very sad to see @playbox002 go, but what an amazing joy to have you with us in Birmingham! We're so inspired by your commitment & deep exploration of play, through #RadicalChildcare & recently #PlayOutTilTea, so it's been incredible to have a piece of @PlayfulLeeds magic.

Didn’t make this today due to other plans but looked like a brilliant engaging day (especially with @playbox002 involved) ☺️

Great initiative! Well done to everyone involved. Wonderful to see our communities come together to reclaim public spaces. – at Camden Town, London

A play street is a happy street. At the heart of #PlayOutTilTea is a road closure, reclaiming the street as a safe place for children and grown ups to play, ride, jump rope, make things, draw on the floor. Find out more about how to make this happen on your street at @playingout.

When we tried, over a few years to get to the bottom of the impact of plastic toys upon landfill/recycling we’ve struggled to get any adequate sense of the scale/data (for our @playbox002 Toybox project)

I’d love to set a design challenge to create extra dry space for @Playbox01 &
@playbox002 with the criteria that we can make paper windmills outside without all the paper flying away. Would also love to create & harness power from super sized gorgeous windmills

Recently:
Me: "What's '#youthwork'?"
Audience (c. 30 - 40 'youth workers'): prolonged silence
Me: "Come on ... "
Audience member: "Working with young people?"
Me: "Like a GP, or Police Officer ... or Teacher?"
Audience: more silence
Not a criticism, more a Q about training ...

Aadi (4) made this with the aid of our artist facilitator Bunty. He was super proud of his creation. As were the 299 other people who made paper windmills on a blowy Briggate from within @playbox002

You might see paper windmills...I see the start of more creative ways for places to play with the power of the wind. Was chatting with one of the team about ‘why don’t we create beautiful artistic wind turbines?’ We start small but have big dreams @PlayfulLeeds
