We just watched Donald Trump come slowly unraveled. He was angry and incoherent. Kamala Harris was focused and presidential. He defended dictators. She defended democracy. He ranted while she laid out clear plans for lower costs, more freedom and a new way forward. - RC

A Duke Energy Indiana exec tries to explain to customers who are mad about high bills that it's not Duke's fault, it's that darned expensive coal and gas! If only there were energy sources with no fuel costs that Duke might try instead...🤔🤨💨☀️newsandtribune.com/opinion/g…

To put a non-resi spin on this, reducing/removing barriers so large customers can access carbon-free energy thru customer programs and/or co-gen >1 MW has such a big role to play in ensuring a cost-effective energy transition, unless we want to pay to overbuild new gen of course.
Replying to @ThadCulley
Consumer DERs are going to be the glue that personalizes the climate transition and makes large scale wind, solar, and battery deployment feasible. Consumer DERs are the gateway to flexible load and to avoiding overbuild to keep the transition feasible.

Very short decision dismissing complaint about FERC's interpretation of a Duke-municipal utility contract. Presumably, IOUs will try to explicitly prohibit/limit wholesale customers from using storage in future contracts. cadc.uscourts.gov/internet/o…
JUST IN: DC Circ. backs @FERC order that NC muni #utilities aren't barred from deploying #energystorage under a power purchase agreement with @DukeEnergy, said Duke failed to show that FERC wrongly read the PPA.

I don’t know who needs to hear this (okay, fine, I do — it’s @TheHillOpinion), but general rate cases do not automatically happen in NC. They also don’t (historically) happen every year. For example, each Duke utility in NC has only filed 2 rate cases in the last 5 years. #ncga

@JasonIsbell @BrandonPresley let’s continue to work with the TVA to improve the South again this century- by working to decarbonize the grid. Climate change is as much a threat to the area now as the Depression was then.
