If you've been handed "do something with voice AI" and nobody said what, come by. Bring whichever call your team makes most. We'll show you what an agent does with it end to end, and we'll tell you where it falls short too, because some calls still need a person.
We're set up at Booth 20071 at Money20/20.
Venetian Expo, Las Vegas.
Walk up, or grab a slot on the Money20/20 connect portal.

Fresh ideas turning into working voice agents in a few hours. That was our #SFTechWeek workshop on Tuesday.
Some of what people built:
- takes a police station's emergency calls and fills in the forms
- replaces a dealership's chatbot with an agent that picks up the phone
- screens a parent's calls and hangs up on scammers
- somebody's first agent, in Agent Studio
Got your own idea? Start with the example repo:

Voice AI agents look great in demos and POCs.
Then real callers show up.
Within a week, the same five things break, and most of them have nothing to do with your model or your prompt. They're about how people talk on the phone. A caller pauses to think and the agent cuts them off mid-sentence. It gets a phone number wrong. It butchers a name.
Venky covered all five in his talk at the AI Engineer World's Fair in San Francisco. Here's the short version:
1. 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆. Callers notice any delay over 750ms. Past 1.2s, they start hanging up. Reasoning models don't help much here, since thinking has to be off to keep the agent fast. Our best results have come from small open-weights models like Qwen 3.5, or Gemma 4 if you need multilingual support.
2. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. The best speech-to-text engines get a 4–6% word error rate on clean test sets. Real calls push that past 10%. Dynamically boost keywords only at the point in the call where you need them, and let the LLM fix misheard numbers.
3. 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮. More than half of agents get this badly wrong. Treat a phone number or a date as a typed field, not a line in a transcript, and confirm it before moving on. Thinking in fields takes accuracy from 30% to 95%.
4. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱. Don't send LLM output straight to text-to-speech. Clean
up emails, dates and currency yourself so they sound right, and slow the voice down for names and numbers.
5. 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻-𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴. A pause doesn't mean the caller is done. And an "uh-huh" doesn't mean the agent should stop talking.

Speech recognition, language models, and voice synthesis have each had their breakthrough moment. For voice agents, that moment hasn't happened yet.
The biggest unlock won't come from any single layer getting better. It'll come from how STT, LLM, and TTS work together. Latency across the chain, graceful failure handling, and real-time orchestration at scale.
On April 1st in SF, product leaders from Plivo, Deepgram, and Inworld AI are getting into exactly that. How the pieces interact, where they break, and what the next generation of the stack looks like.

Plivo is heading to the Magicball AI Festival 2026 in Bengaluru on 16th March - and we couldn't be more excited.
Our own Ayush Anand, Head of Product - Voice AI at @plivo, will be on stage at one of India's largest AI communities - talking about what it really takes to build Voice AI that works in production.
Not the theory, but the real stuff concerning Voice AI - the low-latency pipelines (<750 ms), natural turn-taking, agents that sound human and actually perform. Ayush will also focus on our developer platform which gives you a complete voice AI pipeline - STT, LLM reasoning, TTS, and STS, with the freedom to choose the models and providers that work best for you!
Your models. Your logic. Our pipeline.
Voice AI is moving fast. The gap between experimenting and shipping something real is where most teams get stuck. Ayush has been deep in this for years at Plivo having led messaging, then cloud telephony and now Voice AI at scale - come hear what makes Plivo's voice AI truly unique!

Plivo brought Voice AI Agents to AI Impact Summit 2026 (@OfficialINDIAai)
And the response strongly reinforced that businesses globally are moving towards ‘AI-powered voice automation’ - throughout their entire customer and operations journey!
This is where @plivo comes in.
Plivo showcased how its AI Voice Agents can speak with customers in a natural, human-like way, 24/7. The gap between how a human sounds and how AI sounds is now almost blurred.
Instead of relying on human teams to answer every call manually, businesses can now deploy Plivo’s AI agents to speak with customers on their behalf and manage conversations from start to finish.
Plivo's Global Product, now built for 'Bharat'.
This is the scale we are building at:
📞 Powering 1Bn+ conversations every week
🏢 Transforming voice communication for 50,000+ businesses
🚀 Emerging as the 'Go-to Voice Stack' for AI-native voice startups
🌾 Powering Amul’s Sarlaben, helping 36 lakh farmers across Gujarat get support through a simple voice call in their own language
Our Voice Agents operate with low latency of <750ms , understand mixed speech, speak Indian languages naturally, and perform reliably even in noisy environments.
This is what Building for Bharat looks like.
Here’s a glimpse of what we showcased at the summit 👇

If you’re building in Voice AI, you know that most AI voice agents never make it past the POC stage.
They break on latency, call quality, call reliability (when real traffic hits), and the telephony layer which most teams typically underestimate.
So here’s something interesting - We’re hosting a Reddit AMA in 👉 r/VoiceAutomationAI with Venky B (@bevenky) , Founder & CEO of @plivo (YC S12).

Every day, millions of farmers worry about the same things: their cattle's health, pending vaccinations, milk prices etc. The hardest part? Finding someone who can answer.
Today, @Amul_Coop (Amul India) launched 'Sarlaben' 🤖 - an AI Agent built on 50+ years of cooperative data, with the valuable support of the @EkStep_Org (EkStep Foundation team), in enabling seamless multilingual and voice-enabled access. Sarlaben speaks 'Gujarati', works on a feature phone or landline, and gives farmers real-time answers to queries on milk procurement, animal health, and veterinary care.
No app download. No internet. No literacy barrier.
A farmer simply dials a number, asks her question in her own voice, and gets real-time answers on milk procurement, animal husbandry, or veterinary care.
@plivo is proud to power the voice AI infrastructure that makes Sarlaben possible - connecting real-time conversational AI to 36 lakh dairy farmers across Gujarat, many of whom have never touched a smartphone. When we built our voice platform, we always believed it could do more than power business calls. Today, it's bringing an entire farming community closer. It's bridging the gap between those 36 lakh farmers and the answers they've waited decades for.
Grateful to our partners Santosh Kevlani, BalaKrishnan A, PMP®, Thejaswini Anand, Mohit Garg, Kirti Pandey at EkStep Foundation for their collaboration in making this possible.
"True AI adoption at scale means meeting people where they are. Not where the technology wants them to be."
This is what 'Voice AI at scale' looks like. This is what Plivo strives for.

We wrapped up @TheProductfolks (Un)Conference ’25 in Bengaluru yesterday, and the energy around real-time AI was unreal!
The highlight was the conversation between our founder and CEO, Venky B (@bevenky), Pratyush Kumar @pratykumar, @SarvamAI and Hemant Mohapatra @MohapatraHemant, @LightspeedIndia where they spoke about lessons from scaling: why a product quality beats branding every single time, why allocating capital wisely (especially in early-stage AI) matters, and how choosing the right market - US vs India - can define the next decade of growth.
They dove into responsible AI, the future of voice agents, and the frameworks that matter when building Voice AI products...and how Voice AI Agents are all about sounding "human" where 'latency' can make or break the whole experience!
We also met incredible builders, PMs, and founders who are shaping what comes next.
Watch the trailer and keep an eye on the channel for the full video out soon..
