We powered the @PlussTrial to find a 10% increase in the primary outcome of survival free of BPD at 36w PMA: from 50% to 60%
We needed 1038 infants and we aimed for 1060
The trial recruited in 21 tertiary NICUs in 4 countries (mainly 🇦🇺 & 🇳🇿, 1 centre in 🇸🇬 and 1 in 🇨🇦)

So, disappointingly 😔, the @PlussTrial found that intratracheal budesonide mixed with surfactant had little or no effect on survival free of BPD in EPTIs…
Longer term outcomes are important and we are currently assessing participants at 2 years of age (PLUSS2)
