274,000 jobs across the UK are directly and indirectly supported by defence spending with UK industry. That's 1 in every 100 jobs in the country.
Defence isn't just about security, it's a major employer putting money in people's pockets. See the regional breakdown π
This guy is so niche bantz for a tiny subset of the UK politics chronically online brigade. An old school Monster Raving Loony candidate would have much more local cut through and, crucially, actually be amusing in their policy platform and campaigning

Unfortunately it happened again today, and unfortunately Sonmez wasn't lucky to avoid an injury and she was forced to retire. @rolandgarros do you even care about the players after all these incidents?

The nuclear deterrent is the bedrock of our national security.
Thatβs why the submarine maintenance improvements weβre making at Devonport are vital.
Last Friday, I visited Royal Navy personnel and staff from Babcock to thank them for their efforts.

Who's that guy on the pitch?
This is the story of a normal Hearts fan propelled to 'choir leader', the voice notes from the gaffer and the secret motivation in his top pocket that inspires him every time he points to the sky.

Meeting the crew of a Vanguard nuclear submarine as they surfaced after a 206-day vigil is perhaps the most interesting assignment Iβve ever had.

I was honoured to welcome home our submariners and meet their families. Their quiet professionalism delivering the UKβs Continuous At Sea Deterrent without pause is inspirational.

Proud to welcome home and thank our submariners, who keep the UK and @NATO safe, every minute of every day.
They and their families make huge sacrifices to protect us all, and our UK nuclear deterrent is more important now than ever.
They are the very best of Britain.

We see our home planet as a whole, lit up in spectacular blues and browns. A green aurora even lights up the atmosphere. That's us, together, watching as our astronauts make their journey to the Moon.

ALT A full disk image of Earth, as seen from the Orion capsule. The planet is a pale blue, swirling with white clouds and glowing slightly lighter blue in place from reflected light. From about 8 to 9 o'clock, a large brown landmass is Africa, with the Iberian peninsula twinkling with lights just where the planet curves. At the 1 o'clock spot, aurora glow in a thin green glow, just barely separated from the planet's surface. Earth is set against the black of space. Credit: NASA/Reid Weisman

The family of Matilda, the 10-year-old girl killed in Sundayβs attack, addressed the crowd in Bondi on Tuesday night.
Her father, Michael, said he wanted the crowd to know what a βbeautiful personβ she was. βHer name was Matilda because she was our first Australian,β he said, holding a framed picture of his daughter.
