Goal for St Mirren. Another stramash in the box and Nsio bundles home from close range to restore parity. St Mirren 1, Hibs 1.
Goal for #Hibs! Feels like it's been coming, and it's not pretty, but they all count. Nicky Cadden whips in a corner, Jason Kerr helps it on to Owen Elding who hooks it towards goal and Marko Ivezic pokes home from close range. St Mirren 0, Hibs 1.
HT. Not sure if it's just the chaos of Reedijk-ball, but #Hibs almost seem a bit anxious in front of goal – snatching at chances, rushing crosses etc. Understandable, perhaps given form, league table, etc., but they really need a bit more composure in the final third.
Mayor x Cadden on the left hasn't borne fruit so far, but it's already looking much more connected than Mayor x Klidje. Data for this season so far suggests #Hibs are now using both flanks almost equally but will be interesting to see what Cadden can do on his first start.
Fireworks, St Mirren ultras with a Ghostface tifo, #Hibs in purple; and a first start of the season for Nicky Cadden. Wednesday night fitba’.
#Hibs XI for tonight. Had a wee feeling that Cadden might get a start – and not the worst thing that it's unchanged apart from that.
Zach Bruce is highly likely to be in the #Hibs squad again this evening.
Understand the 19yo midfielder recently moved to training full-time with Marink Reedijk’s first team.
Co-loan with Stranraer remains active ⬇️

💬 'It was a sacrifice for the team.'
Marink Reedijk spoke at today's #Hibs press conference about Grant Hanley's striker cameo on Sunday, what he said to him before sending him on, and whether he might reprise the role in Paisley on Wednesday night ⬇️

Logan Jimenez, Zach Bruce, and Callum MacDonald among those training with the #Hibs first team at HTC this morning.
Jimenez (18) can play anywhere on the left or up top while MacDonald (17) is an attacker who can play on either flank.
Playing Grant Hanley as an emergency #Hibs striker wasn’t an issue in itself but the fact that Marink Reedijk had to resort to it is a concern.
It told us plenty about his attacking options – and spoke volumes about the club’s recent recruitment ⬇️

Joe Newell wasn’t supposed to start against Celtic but by the time he went off, he’d made a pretty compelling case for greater involvement in Marink Reedijk's midfield
And, perhaps more awkwardly, raised another question about #Hibs recruitment ⬇️
hibsobserver.co.uk/features/…
U19s main striker is a converted left-back, Logan Jimenez, and they’ve been using midfielders including Reiss Downie up top. Not an awful lot of striker options at that level. Both Jimenez and Downie have trained with the first team so Reedijk will have had a look at them.
Replying to @pmcpartlin
What’s the point in having state of the art training/ youth facility’s, league and cup winning youth teams to then have a discussion about playing grant fucking Hanley as a striking option, and you wonder why the youth of Scotland flee to England at the first chance.
Goes without saying but once the novelty of Hanley up front wears off it does lay bare the recruitment issues. Lowe injured, but when Bowie was sidelined you had Kuharevich coming in. Campbell would be a decent backup option but obviously he’s out on loan. Hanley ‘til er, Jan’ry?
Better from #Hibs today although avoidable mistakes and a lack of cutting edge up top still haunt them.
Grant Hanley as a makeshift striker one of the main talking points ⬇️

Full post-match Q&A with Reedijk here ⬇️
hibsobserver.co.uk/interview…
#Hibs head coach Marink Reedijk has brought on Grant Hanley as a sub, and stuck him up front.
First subs for #Hibs as Suto comes on for McGrath and Matondo comes on for Klidje. Looks like Reedijk going for a straight 442 for the last 20-odd minutes, with Matondo pushing up on the left to make a 433 in attack.
#Hibs could and perhaps should be 3-1 up by now – Mulligan and Klidje with great chances. And, almost predictably, Duran puts Celtic in front just before the interval.
