💙 National Suicide Prevention Month | A Conversation Can Make a Difference Sometimes, the most important thing we can do is simply ask someone how they’re really doing. One common misconception is that talking about suicide will make someone more likely to consider it. In reality, having an open, caring conversation can give someone an opportunity to share what they’re going through and connect with support. A simple “Are you okay?” can be the beginning of an important conversation. This National Suicide Prevention Month, let’s: 💙 Check in on the people around us 💙 Listen without judgment 💙 Take concerns seriously 💙 Encourage people who are struggling to reach out to a trusted person or professional 💙 Remind one another that asking for help is a sign of strength You never know when a little compassion and a willingness to listen could make a difference. Community Initiatives of Wisconsin (CIW) is committed to supporting healthier, stronger communities and connecting individuals and families with resources and support. #NationalSuicidePreventionMonth #SuicidePrevention #MentalHealthAwareness #CommunitySupport #CommunityInitiativesOfWisconsin #YouAreNotAlone
