From the very beginning, I have been warning that we must not allow the Chinese Embassy to bring Beijing's wolf warrior diplomacy down to the embassy level.
When China deploys wolf warrior diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs level, the international community, particularly like-minded states, can see it, call it out, and push back. Beijing expects that response, and the exchange stays in the open where it belongs.
But once that same behavior is allowed to operate at the embassy level, it becomes something else entirely: a tool for cognitive warfare, information operations, and the shaping of domestic public opinion. This is exactly what we have witnessed in recent days, with Filipinos pitted against fellow Filipinos.
Our institutions are now exposed to attack from within our own capital, and worse, the international community is unable to speak up, because the matter has been reframed as a domestic issue rather than foreign interference.
The most dangerous part is not only the spread of disinformation. It is the division of our nation. Instead of recognizing China as the threat, some of our own countrymen have been turned into instruments to fight on its behalf.

Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson urged the Department of National Defense (DND) to investigate a possible link between foreign sleeper agents and the misuse of the country's late birth registration system, citing national security concerns.
Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. explained that some late registrants are second-generation cases whose parents entered the country earlier, citing dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo as an example.
Lacson also called for a follow-up analysis on surveillance equipment seized during anti-espionage operations, including items recovered near the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in Manila and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) headquarters at Camp Aguinaldo.
Meanwhile, Lacson questioned the DND’s golf course operations, pointing out projected receipts of ₱2.5 billion against ₱2.9 billion in expenditures. He suggested that the department consider cutting its financial losses.
The senator urged the DND to develop cost-effective defense programs, noting that China’s reported defense spending is 52 times higher than that of the Philippines. The DND's proposed 2027 budget stands at P324.632 billion.
Despite the scrutiny, Lacson commended Teodoro for defending the PH’s position on the WPS in international forums, particularly against Chinese delegates who questioned the 2016 arbitral ruling. Teodoro stressed the need for the country to stand firm against Beijing's narrative. | via @eon_sanchez
