Pressing the [return + shift] keys.
After pausing for a few months, my first @beehiiv newsletter, Ponderer.ai is coming back with a twist and new design🤌 Kody from @HabitExamples was the first one to see it and had something to say about it.

Spiritual transformation through AI technology. The idea behind this visual stems from a journey (in the pursuit of AI knowledge and wisdom) that each of us undertakes either consciously or subconsciously. More on today's edition: ponderer.beehiiv.com/p/decem…

Our @beehiiv newsletter is getting an upgrade. A makeover by @joinpixels, of course. We don't follow "best practices." We're faithful to our own vision. Here's a sneak peek of the template. Same sexy blue 😉

Stay quiet 🤫 and disappear for a few weeks and mind your own business. You’ll find out who in your circle are the real ones and the fake ones.

A question I'm pondering: Of all the many things you’re pursuing and wanting, how many of them really matter?

What's the Big Idea!?! "AI is a mirror, reflecting not only our intellect but our values & fears." —Ravi Narayanan @nisumtech Here is my take on it: Consider this moment: What fears about AI surface first in your mind? Is it the threat of job loss, the specter of global domination, or the end of humanity itself? These are common narratives, and many are acutely aware of them. Yet, beyond AI, what else stirs our unease? A recurring theme emerges: Money. Our inquiries to AI often revolve around earning, increasing, managing, and finding money. If AI indeed mirrors our values and fears, what then if our primary value and fear is money? Such a focus suggests that #AI #ArtificialInteligence, in reflecting our concerns, may come to embody our monetary preoccupations. 💜
This Week’s Big Idea "AI is a mirror, reflecting not only our intellect but our values & fears." —Ravi Narayanan The comparison of AI to a mirror implies that AI systems, in their understanding and decision-making processes, may reflect the inherent biases, values, and fears of those who create and wield them. This suggests that the development and use of AI involves not just technical and scientific considerations, but also moral and ethical ones. If AI indeed reflects our values and fears, it becomes imperative to critically examine what we instill in these systems. AI's application in sensitive areas such as law enforcement, healthcare, and finance could mirror societal inequalities or prejudices, potentially exacerbating existing issues if not addressed conscientiously. If you are building AI systems, we suggest a deeper exploration of the values and ethical principles embedded within AI technologies, pushing for transparency and accountability in their development and deployment. As we have mentioned before, we believe true unbiased AI is impossible. Of course, we could be wrong. 💙 👇🧵
