The NYC server is back online. Performance is still not up to our standards, so we keep on investigating 🔎

We're doing some impromptu maintenance on the NYC server in an effort to resolve its performance issue. NYC users won't have access for about an hour, others will get a notification that a server might be responding slowly.

We've noticed that our NYC server has lower performance than expected. Not everyone might be affected, but if you are reach out to see if we can get you going with an alternative solution.

A new day, but no change unfortunately. LucidLink: “Our teams worked on developing the process for service restoration all through the night. They will next test and begin the restoration process. We will provide the next status update by 8 am EST on Tuesday, April 30th.”

Replying to @feulix @postlab_app
Absolutely. I think EVERY Final Cut Pro user will want to install this on their machine. Most users won’t use it for collaboration - they’ll use it for safety, for backups and documented versioning. It’s next level genius.

The morning after… I still have no idea how they’ve made this work.
My head hurts. What they’ve done is INSANE, and I don’t yet fully understand how the hell they’ve done it. AMAZING.
Man, I love the Hedge guys! A+ presentation.

I was pretty stoked about using #Davinci's collaborative features for client projects. But after two rounds, my excitement has taken a hit. Here’s the lowdown:
1. It’s a bit buggy, and some key stuff is still in beta — otherwise you spend $$$$$ on hardware.
2. Want to use presentation mode? You'll need to send client an email invite and they'll need to create a Blackmagic account. A bit of a hassle and no option for that client to share it with any of their stakeholders.
3. While early, and while clients seemed interested, none have jumped into the shared project. I think it's because dropping quick notes in #Frameio is just easier for them in the hustle of their day — especially knowing that revisions are free within scope.
4. It didn’t cut down on revision time. Actually, it racked up more hours that I couldn’t bill for, thanks to additional prep work and sorting out unexpected glitches along the way (three crashes, and at least 15 app hangs).
5. (Personal Hot take) Resolve feels like Premiere with a new UI and more add-on features. I'm just spoiled by FCP and have grown tired of the extra clicks and shortcuts Resolve and Premiere require. Plus, random freezes between the source and program monitor are a buzzkill.
People say, "It works, but it’s got quirks." Yep, quirks that need workarounds.
And you know how folks nag about Final Cut Pro (FCP) missing some cool features like remote editing? I think they're just careful not to roll out half-baked features post the FCPX saga. I have a hunch, when they do launch remote editing, it’s going to be slick and “just work” right out the gate.
Meanwhile, I’m all in for cracking open @postlab_app whenever I’m editing alongside another #FCP editor.
