National insurance rises to fund Health & social care. Below inflation uplift to GP contract for 22/23 and no funding of staff employer NI cost increase. Most will be left with less resource than 21/22. So where’s the “new” money going?

We’re heartbroken. We’re overwhelmed. The situation is critical. Please get vaccinated, wear a mask, wash your hands and get tested for COVID if you feel sick.

Another load of very helpful texts sent out today by @NHSEngland to >50’s telling them to phone us for a flu jab. Obviously slipped their notice that ALL OF MY VACCINE for that cohort are currently stuck in France! @TheIGPM #teamgp @practice_gp

Ditto! 😳…not their problem! It’s amazing how NHSE’s default setting is, ‘contact your GP’ for all patients, yet Primary Care receive only 9% of NHSE funding! It’s as if they want us to fail, but surely that isn’t right?🙄

Can we ask a favour please @JasonManford ? Can you share this short video to help us show the general public where we are at please? Just watch and listen to these GPs talking about the jobs they love. It’s so sad it’s come to this youtu.be/D0apFJsgXRE via @YouTube

Perhaps we need more transparency of GP role. The first appt at 8.30am may run late but that’s because the GP has been there since 7am dealing with a backlog of referrals/ tasks/ results/ queries. Last appt 4.50pm but get home at 8pm. Rarely any standing about.

GP's never stopped seeing patients face-to-face during the pandemic. Even at the height of the pandemic patients were still seen face-to-face where this was required. The press is spreading misinformation and surgeries are suffering.
We do what we can. Please support GP practices
Just days after GP staff are physically attacked and one hospitalised, the @DailyMailUK does this. Absolutely disgusting and clearly don’t care about the impact they are having @sajidjavid @BorisJohnson @GMB @DrHilaryJones

@sajidjavid you can and should be doing more. You could get tge message out there and stop this abuse of Primary Care teams #primarycare

This report is deeply worrying; people should not be subject to abuse, threats and violence simply for doing their jobs.
Incidents like this are sadly on the increase - Government must take urgent action to protect healthcare workers.

We are horrified to hear of a violent assault on staff in a Manchester GP practice.
Abuse of any kind cannot and should not be tolerated; unfortunately it is a growing trend which Government must act immediately to address.

@sajidjavid. @rcn @dailymail @AllisonPearson Again, you are not doing all you can.
We are open, we never stopped seeing patients, to the detrement of our own health and wellbeing, and your government and shoddy, lazy ill-informed journalism are responsible for this!

Abuse of NHS staff must not become the norm, urge @DrSimonHodes and @DrNeenaJha
NHS leaders need to act on the increasing levels of abuse which are unsustainable, damaging to morale, and exacerbating staff shortages ow.ly/zHBB50G5glE
