I had an amazing turnout for my workshop at the OMEA Conference this weekend, where there was lots of learning (and unlearning). Thank you @OMEAOntario
BIG CONGRATS TO BESTIE FOR GETTING SWORN IN. SHE’S AN ATTORNEY Y’ALL ✨✨✨
The same woman who raised thousands of dollars for multiple causes like the Seva Food Drive to help our communities is now going to continue her work to uphold justice. Thriving. Wow.

It's February 1st! Y'all know what it is on this side. Here's a few #BlackHistoryMonth tips:
1. start w/ love, humanity, & understanding
2. lead from a stance of Black joy & excellence, our story didn't start in slavery
3. ALWAYS capitalize the 'B' in Black

Phyllis' request for #OrangeShirtDay is for all Indigenous peoples to stand upon mother earth and speak out loud the names of all 150,000 children who attended residential schools in Canada to honour the lives and the memory of our ancestors and kin. They will not be forgotten.

It was a wonderful evening celebrating Dr Jean Augustine’s 85th birthday at @JeanAugustineSS. It was a great opportunity to showcase student work and connect with community programs. Grateful to work in a phenomenal school with incredible staff and a namesake that is legendary!
Very grateful to be working a job I love at a school named after a true superwoman. Happiest birthday Dr. Jean Augustine! @JeanAugustineSS
This year was tough, but because of my strong, resilient, loving children and these amazing educators and friends, I drove to work smiling EVERY DAY. Fletcher’s, you are a special place. @fmssarrows 💙
Series finale, @fmssarrows Class of 2022! It was a pleasure to know you and the good you do for the world. I got to see some of this graduating class walk the stage when they were in Grade 8, and now I get to celebrate them as ADULTS! Love this group so much! 💙🖤
So grateful to my @AllanAMartinPS family for inviting me back to celebrate my kids who are now middle school graduates! Getting to begin the school year with these change makers was so special. Congratulations Class of 2022! 💚💙

Am preparing myself to read the new numbers on police use of force, strip searches, and race in Toronto. May we continue to build futures without police and policing because this can not go on. #abolitionnow

BREAKING: Toronto Police have released data showing Black people were 230% more likely to have a police officer point a firearm at them when they appeared to be unarmed than white people.
I don't want to hear anyone say that systemic racism doesn't exist in policing EVER AGAIN.

Your annual reminder that Dr. King believed in guaranteed universal basic income that gave all people a dignified life, guaranteed housing for all, guaranteed access to a high quality education, & said that “no one should be forced to live in poverty while others live in luxury.”
