Among patients with acute ischemic #Stroke who underwent successful #EndovascularTherapy for anterior circulation large vessel occlusion, adjunctive intra-arterial tenecteplase was associated with a higher rate of excellent functional outcome at 1 year vs standard medical treatment. Mortality at 1 year was similar between groups. ja.ma/47HX0Rm

Presented at the OCIN 2026 Conference: Among patients with salvageable tissue 24 to 72 hours after stroke, physical function at 90 days was better with thrombectomy than with medical care alone, but intracerebral hemorrhage and death were more common with thrombectomy. Today, I’m going #AllHandsIn with @svinsociety @MThrombectomy to support & raise awareness for stroke survivors on #WTD25 World Stroke Thrombectomy Day. This simple task—eating noodles with chopsticks using my non-dominant hand—was awkward, frustrating, and humbling. But for millions of stroke survivors, this isn’t just a challenge—it’s daily life. I’m doing this to understand just a fraction of their struggle—and to stand in solidarity with them. Now it’s your turn. Together, let’s get #AllHandsIn on World Stroke Thrombectomy Day to raise awareness for stroke—and the life-saving power of thrombectomy. – at New York, USA

this meta-analysis conclusion is appropriately strongly worded: "LAAC is best positioned to reduce nonprocedural bleeding in anticoagulation-eligible patients at standard-to-moderate bleeding risk, rather than as a stroke-equivalent substitute for oral anticoagulation."

This was a great collaboration between a number of folks across @UofUNeurosurg @UofUNeurology and @UofUCV. Important findings that must be considered in the context of patients with #hemorrhagic pathology and those that are on #DAPT. @cvsection – at Canyon Rim, UT
Excited to share our new publication in Stroke: an updated meta-analysis of LAAC vs. OAC in atrial fibrillation. While ischemic stroke was more frequent with LAAC, nonprocedural bleeding was lower. Grateful to my mentors, and co-authors! 📄 lnkd.in/gNWuV4Vb #Stroke
