Project-based learning (PBL) has always been #1 methodology on how I engage students. AI elevates what's possible at every stage: from helping them find age-level+linguistically accessible info, creating authentic work products, & presenting to AI (virtual audiences) for feedback
All Americans need to reflect on when and how anyone can adopt an attitude of dehumanizing African Americans. Say until we finally don't need to anymore, #blacklivesmatter Map Source: NY Times
We need to address the problem of older #aapicommunity not accessing mental health services. Violence as a result of this mental health crisis is seen most horrifically visibly this week, but is quietly felt in the terror of domestic violence every week. mcleanhospital.org/essential…
.@Twitter has been such a meaningful place for new ideas as a teacher. @elonmusk I hope this doesn’t change. @andyhargreaves
America today, more than ever, is a direct reflection of who votes. If you want to change things, pay attention to local, ~state~, & national elections, "We the People" ~who vote~ actually do run America. Onwards towards further hard work towards "A More Perfect Union." Happy 4th
🌙 Ramadan Mubarak to all who are observing the holiest month of Islam! 🌙✨#ramadan #ramadanmubarak
Some of the best teacher PD takes just 5-seconds. I am now going to use: “your adults” and “grownups” rather than guardians, parents, mom/dad. #inclusive #teaching

This is the calling of the [children] of God, and our [fellows] wait eagerly for our response. Shall we say the odds are too great?” #MLKDay2022 1/4
KF94 KN95 & N95 largely interchangeable w. size/fit being more important than which 1 of those 3. If smell is an issue, remove them from package night before. After use, if reusing them, cycle in a new mask next day, reusing old one in a cycle. Graph from: wsj.com/articles/cloth-face-…
Start 2022 with high-quality masks for you and your children for indoor settings with large groups, mixed cohorts, or otherwise elevated risk environments (with regular handwashing too) parents.com/health/kn95-mask…

The order of things more important for students to learn: budgeting, how interest works, ETFs, 401Ks, insurance, are more needed than reinforcing get rich quick. Teaching how networks + encryption work, yes!
This captures my entire career, past, present, and hopefully future!

Excerpt: Faced with this binary, Americans generally don’t pay enough attention to the quality of a mask and how it’s worn. As the Harvard epidemiologist Bill Hanage, we’re still wearing cloth masks because they’re expected to still be better than nothing. theatlantic.com/health/archi…
As a seventh grade teacher and a parent of a fifth grader, so much to contemplate. Image from @WeAreTeachers
Americans want liberty, tragic that their fight against masking & vaccination deprives all of us of safely enjoying the liberty they fight for. While US vax rates are at 53%, Europe is at 70% & socialist Denmark shows the total freedom we could be enjoying now at 80% vax #COVID19
