Two years ago, “Health” Secretary RFK Jr. said that Black children prescribed depression or ADHD medication should be “re-parented.”
This month, he was confronted with that statement by Representative Terri Sewell—a Black Democrat from Alabama—and denied ever saying it.
Unfortunately for him, we have the recording.
“In a 2024 podcast interview, you suggested that Black children on ADHD medication should be ‘re-parented.’ You said: ‘Every Black kid is now just standard put on Adderall, SSRIs, benzos, which are known to induce violence,’ and that those children are going to have to go somewhere to get ‘re-parented,’” Sewell said. “Have you ever ‘re-parented,’ or parented, a Black child?”
RFK Jr. immediately went on the defensive.
“I don’t even know what that phrase means, and I doubt that I said it,” he replied.
“It’s just a yes or no answer,” Sewell responded.
“I doubt that I said that phrase, no. Not gonna answer something that I didn’t say.”
“You absolutely said it.”
“I’d like to hear the recording.”
Kennedy is completely wrong here, and he said what Sewell is accusing him of saying nearly verbatim. Here’s the recording:
“My Peace Corps program is going to be wellness farms, rehabilitation facilities that I’m gonna start in rural areas all over the country, where people—any American—can go for free,” Kennedy said, painting a utopian picture for his solution to the prescription drug epidemic. “Psychiatric drugs, which every Black kid is now just standard put on—Adderall, SSRIs, benzos, which are known to induce violence—and those kids are gonna have a chance to go somewhere and get re-parented, to live in a community where there’ll be no cell phones, no screens, you’ll actually have to talk to people.”
He’s a conspiracy theorist.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Walter Koenig’s passing.
Although we did not know each other well away from the set, we shared the later seasons of the original Star Trek series and the six films that followed.
What I observed, and what so many fans have expressed over the years, was a man who genuinely loved the Star Trek community.
At conventions, Walter was rarely content to remain behind a signing table. He preferred to be among the people who had kept Star Trek alive for so many decades.
That kind of genuine connection is rare, and it will be remembered by everyone who came into contact with him.
My condolences to his family, his friends, and the countless fans whose lives he touched.

Under Trump and full Republican control, the Pentagon just told all U.S. military bases to prepare to be fully fortified for 90 days under the FORTRESS plan, but they didn’t tell the American people anything!
And they did this one week before the midterms.
Pretty much freaking everyone out because fortifying the military bases to operate independently with no connection to the outside world with the entire grid shut down seems like there will be no help for the American people.
Like nothing.
So basically that’s like saying, “You’re on your own.”
And these people actually want you to vote for them.
And why is everyone freaking out? Oh only because Trump has been basically saying he’s restarting the war with Iran that no one wants after midterms and now the Pentagon is fortifying U.S. bases.
You want people to vote for you?
Try instilling trust with the American people that you will ensure their safety, security, and prosperity.
Not sending the message that they are on their own to starve, freeze, or eat each other while you wage world war 3.

Not only is Donald Trump a Russian asset, but he's also flouting it around on full display for all the world to see.
Strongman leaders have a well-documented tendency to stop hiding things that an earlier version of themselves would have CONCEALED.
Political scientists sometimes call this the shift from deniability to PERFORMANCE.
The shift has occurred, and we are now in the performance phase. This is a very dangerous shift.

BREAKING: Mayor Zohran Mamdani enrages MAGA by urging New York City parking lot owners to ban ICE agents from their properties — throwing a massive wrench into Trump's fascist plans.
This is such a brilliant chess move...
"Every day, your garages and lots serve the people who make New York City work: nurses coming off overnight shifts, contractors bringing equipment to job sites, families visiting relatives across the five boroughs, and customers headed to the shops and restaurants that fuel the vibrancy of our streets and our economy," the mayor wrote to the owners and operators of the properties in question.
"When the City closes roads for emergency repairs, a marathon, or a parade, your facilities give drivers somewhere to go," he continued. "Thank you for the essential service that you provide to millions of New Yorkers and visitors each day. We write to ask for your help at a critical juncture for our City: we are asking that you do not rent, lend, or otherwise make your property available to ICE as a staging area for its enforcement operations."
Over 100 elected officials, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, have signed on in support of the initiative. The move comes after ICE agents shot Oscar Belgal last week in his car with his 5-year-old son present.
A city that was already opposed to ICE's brutal tactics has now turned overwhelmingly against these masked, over-armed, undertrained, bloodthirsty paramilitary agents that are terrorizing innocent people. And now Mayor Mamdani is asking lot owners to do their part to fight back.
“In solidarity with immigrant New Yorkers and in our shared commitment to the City we love, we ask that you do not rent, lend or otherwise make your property available to ICE as a staging area for its enforcement operations,” he wrote.
"Make it known to ICE that it is not authorized to use your garages and lots," Mamdani continued. "Some of you have already taken this step. On Morton Street in downtown Manhattan, an operator removed ICE vehicles from a garage after neighbors spoke up. We are grateful for this action and invite every owner to follow this courageous example. "Time and again, New York City has made it through challenging moments because government, businesses, and community leaders come together and show the world what New Yorkers can do," he added.
Predictably, Republicans on social media are losing their minds over this letter, calling Mamdani a "terrorist" and "traitor" who should be deported. But why should he care? They say that anyway. He might as well pursue good policies like this one while his enemies screech in vain.
"Owners who refuse to take part in these federal civil immigration enforcement operations advance public safety by protecting their own staff and customers, as well as fellow New Yorkers beyond their lots and garages. They also tell every immigrant New Yorker that they are treasured members of this community and that our City welcomes them with open arms. We hope you will stand with us," Mamdani concluded.
