This is actually pretty fucking insane fraud. Billions of dollars in consumer purchases that never needed to happen beyond nvidia just artificially throttling their hardware. I expect a class-action in the future.
Nvidia intentionally crippled their $1,000 graphics cards so average consumers couldnβt use its full computing power. Why? Because they sell the exact same chip to big tech companies for $7,000+.
Modders have now cracked Nvidia's software paywall, proving we were sold intentionally downgraded hardware just to protect their corporate profits. This is some bullshit. Also means people bought bigger more expensive cards than they needed to.

ao3 protip i've been using: as long as you have the link to a fic, replace the "archiveofourown.org" part of the link with "ao3saver.com" (so including the string of numbers that comes with every fic url) and it'll pull up any archived versions of the fic
