Have you ever come up with a grand plan, only to find yourself unable to put it into action?
Perhaps you have remarkable ideas and creativity, yet you always seem to get stuck when it comes to execution.
I'd like to propose a fundamental principle for improving our ability to execute plans:
The Unity of Opposites Between “Goals” and “Operations.”
4/
We need to understand that human willpower is limited, and changing our habits is difficult.
This means it is hard for us to change the boundary between “Goals” and “Operations” for a particular task, or to turn a distant “Goal” directly into an “Operation” that we can easily complete
5/
But what we can do is continuously break down a “Goal” into smaller parts, lowering its difficulty step by step, until it becomes an “Operation” for us.
Our willpower is limited.
The next time you fail to achieve your “Goal,” you shouldn't simply blame yourself for not trying hard enough.
Instead, reflect on this:
Have I broken down my “Goals” into “Operations”?
