Yeah, I work in research and brand strategy, and it’s a whole trend called treat culture. Been a big trend for last 3-4 years in consumer spending. Spending money on treats and “small joys” cause people have been locked out of the big milestones

Not to sound all “avocado toast” but I do think a generation who have been priced out certain adult millstones such as a house etc are opting for inexpensive necessities likes M&S food, £6 lattes and such.
