Eastern Storm are going guns blazing at the Wanderers. The Lions are going to have to chase a proper total in this Pro20 Cup match.
First time I’m hearing Ralph speak and yeah I’d be very scared of him.

Sri Lanka were a flop in 2019 and 2023 World Cups. Both campaigns ended in disaster. They failed to qualify for Champions Trophy after finishing ninth in 2023. Roshan Mahanama promises 2027 will be different and they are putting together a comprehensive plan.

From CA: Steve Smith developed neck pain on day four of the second Test in Gqeberha last week.
Subsequent MRI imaging confirmed a cervical facet joint injury. Due to this and his limited range of motion he was unfit to participate in the current Test.
Expecting there will be greater clarity later today from Cricket Australia on what really happened with Steve Smith and his neck yesterday. Smith left the ground for a period earlier today in a car but came back around the end of lunch.

Back to back Tests with a four day turn around was always going to be tough on KG Rabada’s body coming back from injury and having not played any cricket since IPL earlier in the year.
Simon Harmer has caught everything this series. You have to love multi dimensional cricketers. Bowls, bats and catches well.

🇿🇦👶 Markus Muller is set to become the youngest Springboks player in the professional era if he makes his debut this November, breaking Frans Steyn's record.
He will be:
19 years and 118 days v Italy
19 years and 124 days v France
19 years and 132 days v Ireland
19 years and 138-40 days on Finals Weekend
Luan Giliomee could also feature in the top three depending on when/if he debuts.

Markus Muller over Ethan Adams or in fact anyone is not based on on-field performance, that’s for damn sure
Invite you to watch the Currie Cup game they played opposite one another and guess who’s the Springbok
Giliomee is exciting and all but Siyaya is not only a better fullback but also a better flyhalf, better in the air, a better defender, and has a body more sturdy and ready for Test rugby
By all appearances Fassi has for two seasons now been desperately trying to play himself out of the Springboks and at that he has failed miserably, too
Eskom “The Move Stops Here” van Staden not only doesn’t currently make the Bulls’ first choice loose trio but wouldn’t do so for any of the other three franchises either
Romao is not only already better at running into things and tackling things that moves, but he can pass too. But okay, can’t have too many 20 odd yr olds in one squad, esp forwards
Franco is, not to put too fine a point on it, not the future
One hooker is a bold choice
JHW is not a Bok quality prop and he is not a Bok quality hooker
What is Johan Grobbelaar and Marnus vd Merwe, chopped liver?
Zachary Porthen is a brilliant bruising loosie but he is not a destructive or even dominant TH. Unlike, say, taking a name at random, Carlu Sadie, who is in France already and playing the house down as always (but at least France will never be able to pick him because he has that one capturing cap)
Not a particular fan of Seb de Klerk and his newfound blindness to opportunities to others — but on that I’m in a minority of one and likely wrong
Can NOT believe the greatest coach who ever lived or ever will live finalized this squad without running it by moi first
Mbonambi straight in.
Here is our team to take on Ulster at DHL Stadium this weekend.

Cricket Australia posts record revenue of A$601.1M (US$423M) and a net surplus of A$81.8M (US$57.5M) in 2025-26, driven by the home Ashes and India's white-ball tour.
This is despite a A$20M (US$14M) revenue shortfall from the Perth and MCG Ashes Tests ending inside two days.
However, CA expects losses in 2026-27 and 2027-28, with neither season featuring a home Ashes series or an Indian tour.
The last quoted paragraph is very significant.
