This #WorldAIDSDay, we call on countries to keep human rights central in the #HIV response.
Marginalization, criminalization and discrimination against key populations has fuelled HIV transmission and cost lives.
By protecting everyone’s right to health, we can prevent new infections and achieve an AIDS-free generation.

It was so cool hearing my story discussed in this episode when a colleague texted & asked if it was me!
It took me >10 yrs to be ok admitting I’ve made mistakes; I still do. There’s power in humility. How much sooner would I have arrived at this if I had seen others modeling it?
My episode on the Coaching for Leaders podcast is live! 🎙
We discuss failure as an opportunity for growth, how to challenge the emotional resistance to learning that you’re wrong, and strategies for getting closer to our goals... give it a listen: coachingforleaders.com/podca…

Anesthesiologists have a powerful influence on the work climate in the OR - creating #psychologicalsafety is something all of us can do right now to improve #PatientSafety
@APSForg
Here are some methods for building psychological safety in the OR:
👉Start with messaging
👉Lead with curiosity and listen deeply
👉Respond productively when someone takes the risk of speaking up with a concern, asks a question, or admits making an error

Check out Ch.5 in #RightKindofWrong to hear how I learned so much from the wise @JonathanCohenMD
From @AmyCEdmondson #RightKindOrWrong:
Another best practice is acknowledging your own contributions (big or small) to failures that occur
It makes it easier for others to do the same AND others will see you as approachable & trustworthy and be enthusiastic about working with you

Agree that PS cannot be provided to someone, it’s something they need to feel.
Definitely not a rainbow chasing exercise. If you can create an environment where someone feels comfortable sharing things you wouldn’t know (easily) otherwise, it’s always going to be worth it.

We turn a blind eye & reward those that devise workarounds and “get the job done” until it results in a failure. Then we punish them for breaking the rules.
Instead, reward those that “complain” (by LISTENING to them) & fix the system.
