I love technological progress sometimes. This stack of CDs and DVDs from my childhood is 253 discs tall and stores almost 500GB of data. The microSD card in front of the stack holds all that and more in 26,000x less volume and 15,000x less mass.

in sf for only 4 hours so far and I already strongly prefer the new waymos to the old waymos – at San Francisco, CA

First time back in SF after a couple years and I find out that they opened another El Farolito three blocks from the original. Cities aren’t supposed to change like this.

people often ask me why I’m still on twitter and the answer has many parts, but the biggest is that it’s been an extremely strong net positive on my entire career and life

Today’s project: replacing a rusted old metal grate with a precision-cut metal part from @sendcutsend, designed with Claude. Less than a week from tripping over this to having a purpose-built fix. Claude knows how to speak DXF fluently, so I could just describe the part. – at Brooklyn, NY

oh that? don’t mind that. Claude’s just running over there. what’s the VCR for? why so many exposed wires? I just followed its instructions on what to plug in where. don’t worry about it.
