3 strikes and you're out.
If you're looking for an "argument" I have rules.

If after 3 exchanges I consider you to be arguing in bad faith - strawmen, whataboutery, ignoring actual content, etc - I routinely block. Life's too short😎

This is not just a masterclass in public speaking from @ossoff but also a masterclass in Democratic messaging for this moment.
We need criminal convictions more than we need mere impeachment.

We want hearings.
We want subpoenas.
We want investigations.
We want whistleblowers.
We want journalistic exposés.
We want key defendants flipping.
We want indictments and convictions.
We want JUSTICE — and 100% actual accountability for ALL the corruption and crimes.

With David Walliams in the news let’s not forget the guy who collaborated with him for decades.
Now there's a challenge.
BREAKING: Donald Trump says if the Democrats tried to impeach him 'it would destroy their party'.

Why don’t we use a forklift to move weights at the gym?
Because the point isn’t to move the weights. It’s to get stronger.
The same is true of learning. If the goal is simply to get a task done as quickly as possible, technology will often do it better.
But at what cost? Excellent insights from @daisychristo.

This paper answers why confident idiots run the world.
Cornell University published a psychological paper that explains every terrible boss, every loud influencer, and every broken corporate hierarchy.
It’s called “Unskilled and Unaware of It.”
they tested participants across logic, grammar, and humor to measure the gap between actual performance and self-perception.
And the results are wild.
participants scoring in the bottom 12th percentile consistently believed they were operating in the 62nd percentile.
they were not lying. they were literally incapable of recognizing their own incompetence.
the paper revealed a brutal paradox:
the exact skills required to master a domain are the exact same skills required to accurately evaluate your own competence in that domain.
if you lack the skill, you inherently lack the cognitive capacity to realize you are failing.
this creates a dangerous systemic loop.
the incompetent are blessed with absolute, blinding certainty. their brain protects them from their own ignorance, allowing them to speak first, demand authority, and never second-guess their decisions.
meanwhile, the actual experts suffer the exact inverse.
top performers in the study consistently underestimated their rank. because a task was easy for them, they falsely assumed it was easy for everyone else.
they hesitate. they obsess over nuance. they assume they have nothing unique to add.
we are biologically wired to confuse confidence with competence.
the loudest person in the room gets promoted, gets funded, and gets the microphone, not because they know what they are doing, but because they are physically incapable of seeing what they don't.
the only defense mechanism is building systems that stop rewarding absolute certainty and start demanding proof of work.

Or, we will fuck up things we don't understanding and weren't measuring, because that's how reductivism works, and cause our own extinction.
Also possible.

Equality is men and women doing the dishes
Gender ideology is whoever does the dishes, is a woman.

My paper "Computational Phenomenology" is forthcoming in the Oxford Handbook of Phenomenology of Science! 🎉
To be clear, I don't think AI is conscious, but I do think computational models can shed light on the _structure_ of consciousness.

In fact, he acknowledged her with a nod and placing his right hand over his heart, a widely accepted correct way to greet anyone dressed in a way that signals maybe their practice is not to shake hands with the opposite sex.
As Abdul El-Sayed @AbdulElSayed took the stage in Dearborn today, he dapped up and shook the guys’ hands while just walking by the one woman on stage, who was wearing a hijab.
This clip shows who Abdul truly is.
