You should prefer the -new modules. There's also the rtp-send/recv modules that can forward a sink to a remote, and can send data as Opus. That does multicast though.

Just got a new linux computer, and I'm impressed how easy it is with @pulseaudio to add binaural audio crossfeed to reduce headphone fatigue! I might not be able to go back to MacOS after this.

Friends, does anyone have thoughts on Android hearing aid support and ASHA?
Is it commonly used with new devices? Will it be irrelevant soon because of Bluetooth LE Audio?
Should @asymptotic_io try to build support for it in @PipewireP and @pulseaudio?

Shoutout and thanks for open source #7: @pulseaudio is the little app that could. Ubiquitously found in virtually all distros. Makes selecting your sound sources, outputs and other settings simple. May be about to be superseded by up-and-comers but continues to serve me well.

VideoLAN is 20 years old today!
In fact, 20 years ago today, VideoLAN moved from a closed-source student app to the GNU GPL, thanks to the authorization of the @centralesupelec director of that time.
VLC has grown a lot since, thanks to 1000 volunteers!

Congratulations @sanchayan_maity on your first @GStreamer plugin! 🥳
This is a necessary first step (of many!) for easy system integration of the upcoming improvements to @PulseAudio's Bluetooth codec support.

Also really happy to see both this and the Alexa calls that @luisbg pointed to both use @pulseaudio for the audio part of the stack.
And it's using PulseAudio over TCP :O

Nice! This is what my team has built to support Alexa calls mixed in the cloud using GStreamer and WebRTC. 80% of the guide would match our system architecture and documentation 😃Thanks to @gstreamer @ystreet00 @centricular @pulseaudio @louiswu @sdroege_ and many more
