The very wide angle of the camera mixed with the camera shake when the car passes translates so much the sensation of speed!
The wide angle actually makes the car disappear in the perspective way faster than if it was with a long focal length.
Really, the wind trails is what gives the sensation of speed when doing fast flying things in empty environment.
