I also want to extend my appreciation to @pushpita for her support and for her continued efforts to elevate the voices and concerns of Hindu Americans.

Thank you @HoustonChron for speaking to me for this report. I appreciate the spotlight on Hindu Americans and their genuine fears. Thank you @pushpita for your leadership on issues that are of utmost importance. As I told @HoustonChron my concern that this hate will escalate into violence isn’t theoretical. Mass violence never ever begins with violence. It begins with words. houstonchronicle.com/news/ho…

Replying to @AmyMek
@AmyMek this is a ridiculous post. I was at the Southlake Diwali fest today—which began at 4:30pm— because my kids were performing. One of the entrances facing the field was blocked, but there was clear signage indicating entrances to the City Hall polling place and people were entering and exiting without issue. Trying to offend every single group, without basis, is a poor way to win elections.

My family and I were inside our Hindu temple in Aurora when a white supremacist tried to open fire with an AR-15-style rifle. His gun jammed. A courageous coworker later alerted police. We cannot rely on luck to prevent the next attack. The FBI must investigate this as a hate crime.

But your very own Advisor, Dr. Balmurali Natrajan, PLUS scores of Hinduphobic academics YOU have championed say otherwise.., that Hinduism and Hindutva are the same! Their attacks on Hinduism at the 2021 "Dismantling Global Hindutva" conference, AND your support for those statements are not forgotten. youtu.be/mfCO-QndPSo?si=xR36…
Hindu heritage is not Hindutva. Ahead of Jersey City’s Oct. 23 Hindu Heritage Celebration, we’re asking Council members to disclose the event’s sponsors and refuse to legitimize organizations associated with religious supremacy, hate, or exclusion. buff.ly/0wZT4Wb

The FBI must investigate the attempted mass shooting at our Hindu temple in Aurora as a hate crime. Whether hatred targets Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Jews, or any other community, we must stand together against it.

Pushpita retweeted
The more you read #Sharjeel Imam's interview, the more you realize how diabolical is the whole thought process. He basically wants to open up the 1946-47 debate because he thinks Muslims in India did not get a good deal unlike Pakistan and Bangladesh where they got their own country. - The reason he eulogizes Jinnah because like Jinnah he's also seeking 'better' deal for Muslims in India. - Like Jinnah he also considers Muslims as a separate, distinct identity because of their religion. - This is what Jinnah had said and this is exactly what he is saying: "Musalmans [Muslims] are a nation according to any definition of a nation, and they must have their homelands, their territory, and their State." - He rejects any structure which will require Muslims to subsume their identity under the larger Indian identity. - As I said earlier, he thinks of India as nothing more than as an economic resource and Muslims need to be given a 'fair' share of this resource (where he'll define what is fair). - This thinking stems from a thought process which considers Muslims are rightful heir of Mughals and British should've basically handed India to them when they left. - All the BS about 'Ganga-Jamuni' tehzeeb and secularism is anathema to his thought process. - And since he knows that he/Muslims cannot force partition of India like 1947, he calling for restructring of the Constitution and the very framework which governs political India. - For Hindus, India that is Bharat is a civilizational state while for Sharjeel Imam, it is nothing but a conquered territory and Muslims need better terms to exploit this territory even as they live their lives under Sharia.

"Is it Hinduphobia? An @AsAmNews article ponders the motive behind the foiled mass shooting in Aurora. Our Chief Communications Officer @Pushpita calls it out clearly as "Yes." Even after so many temple attacks, why do some still refuse to call out anti-Hindu hate? Is it because doing so would validate the religious bigotry institutions and activists have worked to downplay or deny. Thank you to the 105 members of Congress urging an FBI hate crime investigation. We ask more to join. #Hinduphobia asamnews.com/2026/10/22/hind…

This person is associated with Turning Point USA and is endorsing Bo French. And people still have the audacity to tell me that racism is confined to an irrelevant fringe of the Republican Party. How much more mainstream does it get than Turning Point USA?

At some point we have to be honest about the fact that we have so called Republicans telling people to vote for communist @amyactonoh over Hindu @VivekGRamaswamy because a lot of people on the right have been conditioned to irrationally hate Indians. Imagine voting for a communist just to reinforce your hatred of a brown Indian. I hope the people of Ohio vote for Vivek for Governor.

Public Advisory on Sacred Symbols and #Diwali The Hindu community is preparing for Nov 8, 2026-which marks the festival of Diwali for over 1 billion people across 140 countries. It’s a day that celebrates the triumph of good over evil, of light over darkness and marks a time of joy, peace, service and giving. During this time, it is customary for Hindus to use symbols like #Swastika in private and public displays. A Sanskrit word meaning auspicious, Swastika is a deeply sacred and ancient symbol that has been used continuously for over ten thousand years by close to 2 billion people around the world. Temples and other religious places use Swastika in rituals and ceremonies. Families may prominently use the Swastika in rangolis (sacred geometric designs) at their doorsteps, and elsewhere. Important to note that the Swastika is NOT Nazi. It is distinct from the Nazi hooked cross (Hakenkreuz – pronounced “ha-ken-kroytz”), which is a symbol of antisemitism, hate, and bigotry. While the two may look the same, they are diametrically opposite in meaning, application, and context. Given the increased use of the Swastika during our festive season, we advise law enforcement, media, political leaders, educators, and the public to make every attempt to educate themselves on the important difference between the two symbols and not desecrate sacred spaces, rituals, or observances by mistaking the sacred Swastika with the Nazi hate symbol #Hakenkreuz, which signifies genocide, death, and destruction. Context Matters! A second glance is generally enough to determine the intent of the symbol displayed. Please watch this short video to understand the difference. youtube.com/shorts/UpQ11BJgy… In recent years, a number of new laws have recognized this important distinction-such as the Bill C9 which took effect across all of Canada in July 2026. In our attempts to stamp out hate and intolerance, we advise caution against triggering hate and intolerance against Hindus and Jains. Let's instead promote mutual respect, education, dialogue, and understanding between communities to foster stronger alliances and long-term relationships.
