Sound analysis of the #EnergyStorage implications of the #IRA from @pv_techandy pointing out:
a. the "transformational" impact of the ITCs which will unlock investment, and
b. the severing of the link between #batterystorage and hybrid-solar facilities: bit.ly/3K42xEX

Unpopular clean energy opinion: reducing air pollution, which kills millions, is more urgent and important than fighting climate change.
Both important of course. Fortunately both problems can be mostly solved by the same tools too, so there's no question of "what should we do?"

Disappointing to see former minister & Tory leadership hopeful @MattHancock peddling crackpot myths about solar
He's opposing UK's largest solar farm, 350MW Cleve Hill, which would generate 0.3TWh a yr with no subsidy
Burning gas for that electricity would emit 130,000tCO2 a yr

I recently saw a pitch deck talking about the great opportunity to take advantage of high ancillary services prices in CAISO.
PSA for the industry: that opportunity already expired. It was always a thin market (a few 100 MW) and the new batteries killed it last year. It's over.
