I look at writing sometimes like using a car:
Yeah, I gotta look under the hood, do maintenance, check the fluids, etc. Take care of the machine. Sure.
But too much of that misses the point - You do all that so you can drive.
On days like that, I go the distance.

Had a funny thought: With so many pearl clutchers, maybe we need to do action movies with puppets. When a puppet blows up, or gushes stuffing, no one cares.
But the more I think about it, the more I kind of want to watch a movie like that - Over the top 80's violence and all.

I've finished many eBooks, be it PDF, epub, Kindle, etc. But nothing compares to the treat of a physical copy!

October 26 is National Pumpkin Day.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Roasted pumpkin is delicious! But carving pumpkins and pumpkin spice are definitely traditional ways to celebrate as well.
I keep getting the vibe that things in the next year will either get much better, or much worse.
I choose to look at this as an opportunity to celebrate the end of uncertainty.
It's good to know that I'll always be remembered on my birthday!
I wish the next year could see more chances for me to bring shared happiness to my spaces instead of just putting out figurative (and literal!) fires.

I'm glad I have a strategy of a weekly word count. Because indulging my protective instinct of people in dire straights these past few days has severely eaten into my writing time.

The chaos seems to have died down in my area.
I wish I could say events have given me fodder for my writing. But the truth is that NORMAL™ people are weirder than scifi aliens – My beta readers can't stretch their willing disbelief enough to make the leap work.
