the sign in with chatgpt is so badly implemented in @t3dotcodes ... had my brother try out using codex for the first time. using the "sign in with chatgpt" provider doesnt let u change reasoning levels, doesn't show u your usage, and it was an absolute bitch to remove it just so he can swap over to using the cli binary as the provider. like please fix this or remove it. @theo @jullerino

he asked me how he i saw my usage in t3codes, and told him just click the button on the bottom left. he said it didnt show him anything. And sure enough it didnt. Asked him to ask codex to fix it for him, (he's only on the $20 plan, no claude) and it used all his usage trying to figure it. It eventually on the next session, added a jank 2nd provider which showed usage, but he still couldnt switch reasoning levels. I had to go in with my claude, and got it to remove the sign in provider completely, (no way to remove it in app) then he was finally able to switch reasoning levels. Idk if this is a chatgpt signin limitation (maybe @thsottiaux can help?) or a sloppy @t3dotcodes setup, but this is terrible. majority of noobies will use it this way (they dont know wat a cli is). see they can't swap reasoning levels (or be stuck on whatever shiity reasoning level they are on)

created a skill called sanity check. In a lot of my other skills (ie. review loops, planning, pr creating, etc) where it basically asks a different set of models to take a blind look at the approach of the PR, (not review the details or quality), to make sure nothing is being over engineered, or worse, the wrong idea (usually because the human requested it) is being made. actually insane how much this has improved my workflow. I rarely get seen shitty PRs. Might play around with setting this up to auto close new PR if it fails the sanity check

is there a code review platform like coderabbit supports signin w/ chatgpt?

would love if these `inline` snippets had a copy button next to em @theo 🙏

Why does every product niche have a community filled with the exact same type of people who are so insufferable, ie local model peeps, brave users, hermes, tauri, obsidian, and so much more Ironically, the thing they are defending looks even worse cause of them/

Hi @daradoescode would love to see t3 codes to dedicated windows service integration so it can run in the background without the need for the desktop app (I think ur the windows guy)

It’s crazy how there’s like 20 vc funded companies who’s entire business model is building a shitty Arc clone. None of them are close to Arc. Like how did Josh/TBC fuck this up so hard. I genuinely want to be a fly on the wall to understand how they came to the decision a couple a years back, and somehow, despite all the backlash, have stuck with it all this time.

Here's my honest review of @AsideAI , in short, its clearly trying to be an Arc successor, but its just not there yet. It feels more like a polished Chrome with the Arc flavor. Funnily it has the same UX pitfalls Dia has. I'd choose it over Dia because I don't trust TBC anymore. However Dia is winning in terms of a direct 1:1. Heres a breakdown of my 1st impressions as a new user installing it - requires an account to use (Arc also had this downside). I was able to signout and use local mode tho. onboarding needs a skip button to use local mode. - can't import every profile... only lets me select one... why? spaces/profiles is one of ur big selling points. - no option to skip the "choose your AI subscription" section. - let me set up my password manager extension before doing any sign in/sign ups Sidebar: apart from stock chrome/firefox, one of the worst sidebars. looks good, terrible to use. - can't drag to pin/favorite - no ctrl/cmd+z to undo actions - can't turn off chat? like really... its just stuck there taking up the sidebar.. come on - its a BIG swipe to change profiles, everytime im failling haveing to try 3x just to switch profiles - new tab opens a new tab... i prefer the launcher/launchpad commandk menu In terms of AI features, I can't comment on these. I don't use any of them actively. In terms of visual design, this is the closest browser to Arc. They just massively lack the UX. Funny enough, this literally just feels like shittier Dia. That being said it's not run by Josh and TBC so I would heavily prefer this over Dia.

.@browsercompany @joshm is sunsetting Arc and says Dia is the ideal replacement. I disagree. Arc is a labor of love and design craft, and I enjoy using it every day. Dia, on the other hand, lacks that design love, and I’m not sure why. Here’s 6+ things where Arc is still better than Dia

The existence of Dia is exactly why I won’t switch to Dia. It’s crazy that even to this day Dia isn’t on par with Arc’s UX yet… like what is even going on over there? You’ve lost any trust.
We've decided to sunset Arc on December 22, 2026. That's not an easy sentence to write. We spent years building Arc and celebrating each and every release along the way: we have so much pride and love for what we made alongside the Arc community. Our priority is to deliver best-in-class security for our members. Keeping a browser secure takes constant, dedicated work that is only increasing in the age of AI. Dia was built from the ground up to meet today’s security standards, so that's where our engineering and security teams will focus moving forward. We've worked to make switching to @diabrowser as easy as possible for Arc members. Here's how: · Your passwords, bookmarks, extensions and history come over to Dia seamlessly. · Spaces, Folders, and Tab Groups are in Dia and import over with your data intact. · Dia now surpasses Arc benchmarks in stability, speed, and security. · The browser features you use in Arc are free in Dia, and the AI is optional. Thank you for using Arc, for pushing us to make it better, and for building alongside us. The team that made Arc is the same team behind Dia, and some of our most ambitious work is just ahead. We'd love for you to be there with us when it lands.

why are homebrew and npm the norm... the more i use these the more i despise them. Unfortunately i can't just swap off, since everyone else uses em. :(

Today we're launching an exciting new project: Highlights Highlights is a syntax highlighter that outputs HTML. It improves on both speed and correctness compared to the existing industry standard libraries. It's an optional drop-in replacement in Diffs, and it's ready to use today. In fact, it's already powering diffshub․com! Check it out at diffs.com/highlights OR `pnpm install @pierre/highlights`
