Former United Arab Emirates diplomat Lana Nusseibeh STILL won't admit the UAE sent arms and mercenaries to the genocidal Rapid Support Forces in Sudan. She says she wants to end the war but won't admit that her government is fueling it. She should NEVER be UN secretary general.

Today at the UN Security Council, China's representative delivered a sharp rebuke of US and European policy toward Iran, declaring that Washington's withdrawal from the JCPOA and subsequent maximum-pressure campaign were the "root cause" of the current nuclear crisis. He also stated that US-Israeli military strikes on Iran's IAEA-safeguarded nuclear facilities were the "direct cause" of the agency's inability to conduct inspections at those sites. Beijing further accused Britain, France, and Germany of failing to fulfill their own JCPOA commitments while joining Washington's sanctions campaign. The Chinese representative described the E3's attempted snapback last year as legally and procedurally flawed, arguing that it had undermined the Security Council's unity and credibility. The remarks came during today's Security Council meeting following the IAEA Board of Governors' September 9 vote to refer Iran's nuclear safeguards dossier to the Council, despite the US-Israeli attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities. Russia and China both opposed convening the meeting, arguing that the US and European governments were ignoring critical facts about the crisis, particularly the US withdrawal from the JCPOA and the military attacks on Iran. The meeting nevertheless proceeded following a procedural vote of 11 in favor, 2 against (Russia and China), and 2 abstentions, with no veto applicable. China also warned against another round of US military strikes, expressed concern over repeated missed opportunities for diplomacy, and called for an end to the fighting and renewed negotiations. The central argument from Beijing: The US and European powers cannot disregard their own role in dismantling the nuclear agreement and attacking safeguarded facilities while demanding punitive international action over the resulting nuclear crisis.

Today’s UN report stated that Israel uses torture and rape to attack Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and—like in Gaza—they DELIBERATELY KILL CHILDREN. You have to be sick to still defend this.

When the accused are Muslim, I’ve often seen CM @himantabiswa or the police prominently publicise their names and/or photographs. Why does the same transparency appear to disappear when the accused are associated with right wing groups? In this case, 13 accused were arrested and later granted bail. Later, Four more (Sumit Kumar Das, Arnab Kumar Roy, Priyanshu Paul and Priyanshu Das) were arrested. Yet I haven’t seen the CM or the police highlight their names or publish their photographs on their official handles. Nor have I seen them disclose the BNS sections invoked against them. If the accused were granted bail almost immediately, the police should clarify exactly which sections they were booked under. Why this selective.
The news of an attack on a Bihu troupe in Sribhumi is deeply disturbing and unfortunate. Bihu is the soul of Assam, our pride and our identity. We will never tolerate any insult to our culture and heritage. I have directed the @DGPAssamPolice to ensure immediate action against those responsible.

A paranoid Modi Govt has gone berserk on @instagram - any content that is slightly critical of the Supreme Leader is being taken down. Even JOKES are not being spared💀 Why is the ‘most popular PM in the world’ so worried about what’s happening on Insta? Didn’t Modi say that we need more satire and humour in our lives?😖 As the narrative slips and the lies come out - expect more accounts to be censored / banned / blocked. @Meta not saying saying why the content got blocked - just that they are following local regulations 😬🥸

🇸🇩 Sudan's UN representative twice confronted Lana Nusseibeh, the UAE's candidate for UN secretary-general, at her question session with member states on Tuesday. 🔸He asked if she would back "an independent investigation into your own government's involvement in supplying weapons and mercenaries to a militia implicated in genocidal atrocities in Sudan," some of which "are actually mass raping of women and girls," even as states weigh electing the first woman to lead the UN. Nusseibeh said she would "refer any questions regarding that to my own government" and that "the civil war has taken too high a toll." 🔸The session was wrapping up when Sudan's representative took the floor again. He said "civil war" is a term "used by UAE" and "not used by the UN" to describe Sudan, and asked her to respond. Nusseibeh didn't address the term. She said she would work with Sudan's ambassador on mediation, a ceasefire and humanitarian aid "with the acceptance of the authorities on the ground." She then repeated her commitment to independence under Article 100 of the UN Charter, which bars the secretary-general from taking instructions from any government. 🎥 UN Web
🇦🇪 NEW: Asked whether she would continue rejecting UN findings on the UAE’s role in fueling Sudan’s war if chosen to lead the United Nations, Lana Nusseibeh said questions about the UAE should be directed elsewhere. During a UN town hall on Tuesday, Yona Diamond of the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights, confronted Nusseibeh over her repeated denials of UAE weapons and support to Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF), asking how she could lead an organization whose own findings she has rejected. Nusseibeh, UAE’s Minister of State, responded that she had taken leave from her position as a UAE minister and declared: “I refer any questions about the UAE to the UAE representation.” She then spent more than a minute outlining her commitment to ending Sudan’s war, calling it the “litmus test” for the next UN chief, without addressing her past denials or whether she accepted the UN’s findings. 🎥 UN Web TV

Adani is suing me for ₹50 crore, apparently valuing the damage to his reputation at that amount. I contend that wealth acquired through alleged wrongdoing does not confer credibility or reputation. My valuation of that reputation? ₹0. And if the reputational damage is zero, the compensation should be zero. ₹50 crore demanded. ₹0 deserved.
