'Hopefulness is not a neutral position. It is adversarial. It is the warrior emotion that can lay waste to cynicism. Each redemptive or loving act, as small as you like – such as reading to your little boy... keeps the Devil down in the hole.' Nick Cave.

Crikey- you may be right ⁦@elonmusk⁩ - it feels like imminent civil war in London this evening - people from all races and religions sitting in the sun, having picnics, walking dogs, playing frisbee, enjoying the greatest city in the world. #edgy

Water samples taken from our beaver pond by Stirling Uni. Samples on left are from above their main dam, on right from below it. All species (including us) need clean water. Dams act as sieves, storing run-off from the land & releasing clean water downstream. Thank you beavers!

Well said, @CliveTyldesley! I’ll be proud to cast a positive vote for the excellent @Heidi_Labour. She is an outstanding public servant and someone I trust to fight for the best for Swindon and the country. And thanks, Clive, for the excellent commentaries. You’ll be missed.
And another (far more important) thing while I’ve got your attention…

Hello David, absolutely loads of barrows, tombs and holy wells - we have 50 listed in the constituency of South Cotswolds but the top site for photos and information is Windmill Tump long barrow: megalithic.co.uk/article.php…

97%+ of over 65s are registered to vote. Only 2/3s of 18-24 year olds are on the register. If you turn 18 on or before 4th July you can register to vote right now. Do not lose your democratic birthright! It matters so much. It only takes 5 minutes. gov.uk/register-to-vote

Maybe, instead of National Service for 18 year olds they should introduce national service for MPs. They all have to do several weeks volunteering in a school, GP, hospital, care home, social care and police within their first 12 months in office.

Please don't criticise Thames Water. They took on a debt free monopoly with a guaranteed income, borrowed £billions then paid it all out to shareholders, while spending nothing on infrastructure. In other words, a textbook example of how privatisation is meant to work.
