💥 NHS STAFF 💥
Please consider signing this open letter to @VictoriaAtkins & @AmandaPritchard at @NHSEngland expressing your dismay at their extraordinary decision to cut @NHSPracHealth funding for hospital staff.
Please share widely 🙏

This is the maternity ward. They have 10 beds, which are frequently full. An expansion is under construction, but there isn’t currently the funding to complete it.

Love this!
Many moons ago, both @Medic_Russell & @r_burd were part of a medical school scheme which placed them on front line ambulance assets
I was lucky enough to host them, laugh with them and *try* and teach them a little out-of-hospital care on the way
Now look at them!
First night shift back in emergency medicine finished - joined by @SeanHarris999 (my old mentor from @The_PCP) and by @r_burd (my former student from @The_PCP), it’s been a night of reunions as the sun rises in Hackney! 🚑❤️🏥
Exceptionally lucky to have been mentored by these two! 🩺

I’m a junior doctor who has had 3 COVID vaccines. To protect myself and those around me. Because #VaccinesWork.
I’ve cared for patients with COVID on ITU, on the medical wards, and in ED. Far too many of them didn’t survive.
Please, please #GetVaccinatedNow.
Had my first interaction with @Redthreadyouth at work recently, and they were absolutely incredible.
Care and compassion in abundance, making a tangible difference to the lives of young people in East London.
When 7 of your first 10 shifts in ED have been nights and your phone knows it – at Stratford, London
Yesterday was pretty special…
…Almost a year later than planned, we finally got our Barts & The London Class of 2020 Rites of Passage Ceremony!

FY1 ARCP Outcome 1 ✅
Somehow, the last year at @NewhamHospital has flown by
Next up, @EDHomerton in August!
But for now, 8 whole days off:
Needed to send bloods to the lab on ice
Inside sources informed me the only place to get ice is the paeds ward
Paeds nurse: Um. Yes we do have ice... As long as you don’t mind that they’re skull-shaped?
Can confirm it made both mine and the lab tech’s day 💀
#paedsrocks
First dose of the COVID vaccine ✅
Talking with fellow healthcare workers tonight, it’s clear just how broken so many are feeling, and just how much this tiny bit of hope is needed right now.

The mRNA vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) are kind of brilliant at a science level. I’ve had a few people in my real non-Twitter life ask me to explain how it works so I’m going to try my best here in this thread while I’m waiting for a patient to show.
