Eric Bauza was an incredibly varied talent. A good actor can transform into someone else, and he proved it voicing both Daffy and Porky in The Day the Earth Blew Up. Both sounded completely different. I also prefer his APC performance to Billy West’s Games-era Ren & Stimpy.

Wishing Andrew Neiderman a very happy 86th birthday.
As well as being a prolific horror writer, Neiderman has written many books under the pseudonym V.C. Andrews, extending the legacy of Flowers in the Attic scribe Virginia Andrews.
Here's the 1986 Arrow Books edition of Neiderman's Imp.

I’m heartbroken over Eric Bauza. For those who don’t know, he passed sometime today. It’s unbelievable. I always appreciated his performance of Stimpy in APC. That was always my favorite iteration, and my favorite voice work he’d done.
Halloween's great, but Jack still hasn't given up on Christmas!

As a kid, I considered Moby Dick to be one of the famous monsters. He seemed to fit right in.
In The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo (1985), horror legend Vincent Price came to Saturday-morning cartoons as Vincent Van Ghoul, a sorcerer helping the gang recapture 13 escaped ghosts! #HannaBarbera! #AnimationHistory #Halloween

Michael Whelan is known for his magnificent Fantasy illustrations, but judging by this 1983 cover, he was just as good at horror:
Remember when kaiju movies were considered a subgenre of horror movies? #HorrorMovies #Halloween2026 #halloween
I love how the music on the boom box sounds so authentically like Patti Smith or Siouxsie and the Banshees, usually the goth/punk character would just be listening to generic metal and not actual deathrock.
if I recall correctly, this film was made in part to counter tim burtons racist statement of black people not fitting his "aesthetic" which is such a baller move honestly. this movie looks beautiful and kat herself oozes charm
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Tim Burton did not say Black people don't fit his aesthetic. In 2016 he said diversity should fit the story, citing Brady Bunch tokenism. Wendell & Wild development started 2015; Peele wanted a Black lead for kids like him to see themselves.

One of the many precursors to Alice Cooper, and excellent Halloween music. Screaming Jay Hawkins is another must!
#NowListening to the spooky, swingin' sounds of Screaming Lord Sutch. 🎃🍂
It's really hard to pull off a Peanuts/Tim Burton style as despite being a fan of both just as an audience member, the roughness and lack of construction is so against my natural cartooning instincts.

I know The Dark Knight Returns predates Batman '89 but the Joker always struck me as looking (and acting) SO much like Jack Nicholson here.

A little dark April Fool's Day humor from Wizard magazine that's perfect for the #halloween season. Enjoy this rare "Last Corpse Standing" battle between Bucky and Jason Todd, both of whom would eventually be resurrected.
