The most excellent people in their craft are often the least self-promoting. Their drive isn’t motivated by affirmation- but for mastering their craft and service to others.

Thank you Prof. @Rafic for putting these thoughts together. Colorism must go away. I was taunted by my own family as "mocha." Joke's on them, I drink lots of them now #OprahMeghanHarry adweek.com/brand-marketing/c…

The problem is not people being uneducated. The problem is that people are educated just enough to believe what they have been taught, and not educated enough to question anything from what they have been taught. 🧠

While 40% of Americans think it’s a good thing for brands to find a way to stay relevant amid the coronavirus outbreak, a third feel that marketers should only advertise if they’ve taken direct action to address the situation. nytv.to/QvxVD

For an assignment, I asked some of my terminal paediatric palliative care patients what they had enjoyed in life, and what gave it meaning. Kids can be so wise, y'know. Here are some of the responses (Thread).

A company asked for my 2020 prediction. Here it is (please don't be offended): A movement to be “post-digital” will emerge in 2020. We will start to realize that being chained to your mobile phone is a low-status behavior, similar to smoking.

Research across fields shows best way to work is 30-90 minute blocks of deep-focus single-tasking (no distractions) followed by 5-30 minute breaks (during which you let your mind wander and body move). Amazing how much you can get done in just 2-3 of these blocks per day.

More and more I’m coming to believe that toughness is knowing when to ask for help; knowing when to take it; and knowing when to give it. So often we ask for help when we don’t need it and refuse help when we do. Same goes for giving it.

Love and presence are one and the same. This isn't just an inspirational thought. It has serious implications. A massive consequence of our distraction-crazed, dopamine-driven culture is loneliness. Swim upstream. Practice being fully there for people and things you care about.

"Will sharing this bring value to my company?" 👈that's marketing "Will sharing this bring value to others, even if it doesn't benefit me/my company?" 👈that's transparency I don't particularly care for the former. I'm all in on the latter.
