Working with our pals at @cityoftoronto and @Metrolinx, #TTC crews have completed the streetcar tracks and overhead on Richmond, York, and Adelaide streets. This allows us to run 501/301 Queen streetcar service from Neville Park Loop all the way to South Etobicoke, starting this Sunday. This new infrastructure allows for a shorter diversion around important @OntarioLine construction at Yonge Street and gives us more long-term options for streetcar diversions in the downtown core. The #TTC Line 3 SRT era is officially closing on two fronts. 1) In mid-September, contracted crews began the months-long process of removing the rail, signals, and concrete to make way for the construction of the new busway, which starts next Spring. 2) The old SRT cars have started their journeys to their new homes. 18 going to Detroit for the @detpeoplemover , two going to @streetcarmuseum in Halton, and one going to @TheTorontoZoo (for show, not transport).
