day 5 of no ao3
there are at least 4 different ao3 clones made by AI with scraped data; people are compiling lists of authors who don't want their works to be published outside of ao3 to block them after; somebody had just called writers greedy capitalists again
it's tuesday

I once stumbled upon a really curious explanation for why Westerners have this strange obsession with “Great Russian culture”. It’s exotic enough to let you boast about how niche your interests are, yet not too exotic for someone with white skin.

it's not over. russians are committing crimes to this day and the world is silent

Please support Ukrainian artists. This is the reality that Ukrainian artists in some cities have to live in right now (the black areas represent power outages)
It's a bit better for me for now but still

Ao3 being down for weeks really exposed how many people in fandom spaces only see art (any form of it) as a product to consume with zero regards for the boundaries and wishes of the creators

Tl;dr: community involves all parties, and I’m really tired of seeing so many readers talk about how fandom is community driven when you guys don’t treat writers as a part of that community. Writers are not upset about credit, they’re upset about being reduced to content.
