The selection of Prince Reza Pahlavi to receive this award on behalf of the Iranian nation and in the face of intense pressure from Iran’s enemies, the Islamic Republic, and various individuals and groups opposed to him, was highly appropriate and well-deserved.
Our compatriots, through the epic display they staged in Frankfurt on November 7th, have firmly endorsed this choice.
For my part, as an Iranian veteran and patriot, I extend my gratitude to everyone at the Friedrich Naumann Foundation who stood firm and did not yield under such pressure.

Still, it won’t change the reality: Prince Reza Pahlavi has emerged as the leading figure representing the aspirations of millions of Iranians, as repeated mass demonstrations inside Iran and around the world show, with his name chanted and his leadership demanded.
Unlike those who seek to impose their political preferences on the Iranian people, Reza Pahlavi has repeatedly made clear that his role and leadership must ultimately come at the request and with the support of the Iranian people.
So, who exactly gave you the authority to decide who is right or wrong and entitled to receive an award on behalf of the Iranian people?
