New: Katie Britt quietly invests in GOP candidates — and her own political future
washingtonexaminer.com/news/…
Sen. Darline Graham (R-SC) tells reporters she didn't raise her concerns w/Trump at SC rally or on Air Force One yesterday for his waivers on Russia sanctions named after her late brother. She still will, "If I get the opportunity."
"There were other people on the plane, other congressional members, other senators. I didn't have an opportunity to have a private conversation. That's a private conversation."

SCOOP: AIPAC will no longer endorse congressional candidates or earmark donations to congressional campaigns. The group's super PAC, United Democracy Project, will continue to operate and it will urge members to donate directly to pro-Israel candidates. jewishinsider.com/2026/10/ai…

This election keeps getting weirder
Today, Republicans' 2022 Senate nominee Don Bolduc endorsed Democratic Rep. Chris Pappas in New Hampshire's Senate race and Democrats' 2020 Senate nominee Al Gross* endorsed Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan in Alaska
*Gross was an Indy but had DSCC/Dem support
New: The GOP Senate candidates skirting Trump’s diesel deal with Putin
Plus: WH doubles down with no signs of changing course despite blowback, saying "lowering prices for America’s great farmers, truckers, and families remains a top priority"

Bipartisan group of senators urge Trump in letter to rescind Russia diesel deal. Includes GOP's Tillis, Collins, Armstrong, Murkowski, McConnell, Cornyn. Dems are Blumenthal, Shaheen, Durbin, Whitehouse, Reed, Coons
They call it "a betrayal of the people of Ukraine, who continue to defend themselves from Putin’s murderous, illegal war. This deal is a gift to our adversary and a betrayal of our Allies; it should be rescinded."
GOP eyes Wes Moore’s redistricting measure to boost them in blue Maryland
"This is our Battle of Stirling,” said Moore’s GOP challenger, Dan Cox, referencing the 1927 conflict during the First War of Scottish Independence. “If we don’t win here, we will go into decades, potentially, of not having a voice in Congress." washingtonexaminer.com/news/…

Defending Main Street PAC says its vendor will be refunding the ~$25k it placed on anti-Troy Jackson ads in the Portland, Oregon, media market
"No donor funds will be lost as a result of the vendor’s error."
Full statement: "During a recent independent expenditure, our media vendor mistakenly placed approximately $25,000 in digital advertising in the Portland, Oregon media market instead of Portland, Maine. The error was identified, the ads were immediately stopped and corrected, and the vendor is refunding Defending Main Street the full amount of the misplaced spend. No donor funds will be lost as a result of the vendor’s error." washingtonexaminer.com/news/…
Fundraising email: "Trump sent DHS to search my house"
(Donations split between Omar and Progressive Change Campaign Committee)
Susan Collins and Troy Jackson found at least one area of agreement during their second #MESen debate.
They both vehemently denied offering special interests insider access or that campaign contributions influenced public policy.

I was curious whether calling data centers by a different term might change people felt toward them.
Behold, the split sample!

Scoop: Enviros held a call Thurs in which progressive opponents tried to rally fence-sitters against the permitting bill. I obtained the transcript.
"We really have to have a pretty clear agreement by all parties that this is an effort to stop this bill, not to make it better"
New: Ratepayer Protection Act blocked by Senate Dems but overwhelmingly cleared by House revealed out-of-sync Dem strategy over how to handle increasingly contentious data center campaign issue.
Split screen
Jeffries—"an appropriate step forward"
Schumer—"toothless"
Vulnerable House Dems campaign on it
Sen. Murphy—"I wouldn’t be campaigning on this because it doesn’t do anything"
#GASen note—Ossoff, who voted to advance, told me he wanted to debate/amend b/c "folks are concerned about the impact of these data centers on their power bills"

Thune not a big fan of a diesel export ban as many Republicans urge Trump to implement one. No "tangible benefit from it in terms of affecting the price" and "it would create longer term supply issues."
"We're giving consideration to not just the immediate political consideration but the long-term economic one, too."
Sen. Jim Justice (R-WV) described his party as having “glossed over” everyday people as they head for the campaign trail increasingly worried they failed to address voters’ economic anxieties.
"We, as Republicans, can become tone deaf,” Justice said, citing buying Greenland as an example. “I think we, as Republicans, should own it. This is not to say, ‘Well, our president screwed up, or Congress screwed up,’ or whatever it may be. We ought to own it. Period.”

New: Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) is proving to be an unassuming yet prolific campaign asset for his party as he crisscrosses the country to fundraise and boost morale for Senate candidates. He expects to raise and spend up to $8M this cycle for others and credits his demand, in part, to his willingness to dish out hard truths.
"I’m not going to tell the voters, ‘Oh, it’s President Biden’s fault, and it’s not that bad. You shouldn’t believe your own lying checkbooks,’” he said. “But I’m also very careful to point out to them that the ‘Lulu Lenin’ wing of the Democratic Party is in control."
