தீபாவளி பண்டிகையை முன்னிட்டு சென்னையிலிருந்து தென் மாவட்டங்கள், மேற்கு மாவட்டங்கள் மற்றும் டெல்டா மாவட்டங்களுக்கு இலட்சக்கணக்கான மக்கள் சொந்த ஊர்களுக்குப் பயணம் செய்வது வழக்க்மானது.
இந்த ஆண்டு தீபாவளி நவம்பர் 8-ம் தேதி கொண்டாடப்படுவதால், நவம்பர் 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 ஆகிய நாட்களில் நெடுஞ்சாலைகளில் வழக்கத்தை விட பல மடங்கு வாகன நெரிசல் ஏற்படும். இந்த நெரிசலுக்கு முக்கிய காரணம் சுங்கச்சாவடிகளில் வாகனங்கள் மணிக்கணக்கில் காத்திருக்கும் நிலைதான். ஒவ்வொரு பண்டிகை காலத்திலும் இது தொடர்கிறது. இதனால் குழந்தைகள், முதியவர்கள், நோயாளிகள் கடும் அவதிக்கு உள்ளாகின்றனர். எரிபொருள் விரயமும், காற்று மாசும் அதிகரிக்கிறது.
எனவே, மக்கள் நலன் கருதி, தமிழ்நாடு அரசு பின்வரும் நடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொள்ள வேண்டும் என வலியுறுத்துகிறேன்.
1. தீபாவளி பயண நாட்களான நவம்பர் 6 முதல் நவம்பர் 10 வரை, சென்னையிலிருந்து வெளி மாவட்டங்களுக்குச் செல்லும் அனைத்து தேசிய, மாநில நெடுஞ்சாலைகளிலும் உள்ள சுங்கச்சாவடிகளில் சுங்கக் கட்டணம் வசூலிப்பதை ரத்து செய்ய வேண்டும்.
2. தீபாவளி மற்றும்பொங்கல் ஆகிய பண்டிகைகளையொட்டிக் கட்டணம் ரத்து செய்யப்படும் நாட்களில் சுங்கச்சாவடித் தடுப்புகளை முழுமையாகத் திறந்து வைத்து, தடையில்லா போக்குவரத்துக்கு வழிவகை செய்ய வேண்டும்.
3. பண்டிகை கால நெரிசலைக் கட்டுப்படுத்த கூடுதல் காவல்துறையினரைப் பணியில் ஈடுபடுத்த வேண்டும். ,அத்துடன், அவசர மருத்துவ உதவி மையங்களை அமைத்திடவேண்டும். மேலும், கூடுதல் ஆம்புலன்சுகளையும் நெடுஞ்சாலைகளில் ஏற்பாடு செய்யவேண்டும்.
சுங்கக் கட்டணத்தை விட, மக்களின் நேரமும், பாதுகாப்பும், நிம்மதியான பயணமுமே முக்கியம் என்கிற வகையில் தமிழ்நாடு அரசு தீபாவளி பயண நாட்களில் சுங்கக் கட்டணத்து ரத்து செய்திட வேண்டும் எனக் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறோம்.
