- Snehlata Pandey was working as a Nursing Officer in Bhind, Madhya Pradesh.
- She met Satyaprakash Jatav at a private college.
- Satyaprakash was already married but had no children.
- He allegedly concealed his identity and marital status, posing as a Brahmin and an unmarried man. He entered into a live-in relationship with Snehlata, hoping to have a child.
- After Snehlata gave birth to their child, she pressured him to marry her.
- As tensions escalated, Satyaprakash Jatav hatched a conspiracy. He left the child with his first wife and took Snehlata on the pretext of a trip to Kanpur. Near Etawah, he allegedly strangled her and threw her body into a river.
- To portray himself as innocent, Satyaprakash filed a missing-person complaint in Bhind and pretended to search for Snehlata.
- However, during an intensive police investigation, Satyaprakash Jatav confessed to the crime.
