Let’s talk about what a $100K sale would mean for BAYC Mudwater. 👀🦍
There are 8 Cracked Ice 1/1s in Series 1, and a $100K bounty on the first one pulled.
Think about how rare a sale like this would be for a brand new TCG.
⚡ First, the established TCGs:
Pokémon has recorded 500+ card sales above $100K in 2026, but only 12 involved cards printed since 2014.
One Piece has also crossed the $100K mark with modern Manga Luffy cards.
Even in these established markets, six figure sales for modern cards are exceptional and rare.
👀 Now let’s look at Web3 TCGs:
🐝 VeeFriends Series 2: A reported $7K private sale for a 1/1.
🐧 Pudgy Penguins Vibes: PriceCharting’s top listed value is around $1,775.
🎴 Azuki TCG: A $10K listing marked sold via best offer, but the actual sale price wasn’t disclosed.
These are the highest public benchmarks I could find for these collections.
The gap is enormous.
A verified $100K Mudwater sale would be an extraordinary milestone for a new Web3 TCG, putting it in the same six figure sales conversation as established collecting markets like Pokemon, One Piece, and MTG.
More importantly, it could get collectors beyond Web3 paying attention.

A couple interesting rumors made the rounds at ApeFest about Mudwater. 👀
I know Series 1 has only been out for 5 days, but hear me out.
🎴 Series 1: BAYC history and lore. Potentially the smallest circulation and most limited retail distribution.
🎬 Series 2: Rumored to tie into the upcoming BAYC anime, with both activations potentially feeding off each other. If Series 1 succeeds, could we see a bigger production run and wider retail distribution?
Very early speculation, but an interesting possibility to consider while Series 1 is just getting started.

I’m sharing my pack opening below, and I want to see who got luckier than me.
As an ape holder, this is the kind of announcement that gets me excited about @BoredApeYC.
Meet Mudwater, a trading card game bringing the BAYC universe into physical collectibles and digital cards on @solana.
The first set, Swamp Origins, features 120 card designs, including foil and serialized editions, with eight cracked-ice 1/1s for collectors to chase.
Apparently, my ape needed another collecting habit.
What I like about this direction is how naturally it fits the community. The characters, artwork, and swamp lore already exist. Trading cards give people another way to explore that world, discover their favorites, and share the experience.
There is something immediately understandable about opening a pack and wondering what is inside. You can show it to a friend without spending twenty minutes explaining why you own a monkey.
The Solana expansion is interesting, too. I see an opportunity for BAYC to reach another active community of collectors and introduce more people to the brand through something they can participate in.
Existing holders are included, with allocations of 10 packs per Bored Ape and two per Mutant Ape.
There is also a connection back to $APE: Mudwater’s announced mechanism directs 2.5% of each NFT trade toward buying APE and distributing it proportionally to Mudwater holders.
For anyone curious about the game itself, it is already playable in Otherside using demo cards. Bringing your owned onchain cards into matches is coming later, while physical conversion is also listed as coming soon.
Personally, I’m positive about the direction. I want to see the BAYC world keep growing through experiences people enjoy enough to return to, invite friends into, and create content around.
For now, I have packs to open and questionable confidence in my luck.
