At the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) Academy Day this morning at #IAC2026, Dr. Anthony Brown of @UniLeiden presented ten years of the @ESAGaia mission. Gaia is a space observatory that surveyed the sky from Sun-Earth L2, 1.5 million km from Earth. This photo shows the sky map from Gaia's first data release in 2016, which charted 1.14 billion stars. The current catalogue holds 1.81 billion stars, and the fourth data release arrives in December 2026 with 66 months of observations. 🔭 More on Gaia: esa.int/Science_Exploration/… – at Antalya, Turkey

At #IAC2026, I’ll be moderating the “Next Generation Space Infrastructure” plenary and digging into what we need to build in space to support the space economy. It’s a future we are building at @rdvrobotics, and I’m looking forward to hearing how others are approaching it. Oct. 7 | 13:45 If you’ll be there, let’s connect. 📷 – at Golden, CO

Last week I joined the "Next Stop: In-Orbit Servicing" panel at World Space Business Week in Paris, alongside Robert Hauge (@NGCNews SpaceLogistics), Chris Blackerby (@astroscale_HQ), and Adel Haddoud (@Infinite_Orbits ), moderated by Gabriel Deville (@Novaspace_ ). One theme we covered: satellites are getting bigger and more powerful, not smaller. New missions need more power, larger antennas and more heat rejection. Satellite manufacturers are meeting that demand by cramming more and more into rocket fairings. The current ceiling is around 30 kilowatts and 20 meters of antenna, and that is only based on what we can fold up to fit into a rocket. We also talked about how modular spacecraft would be easier to service. Every servicing mission today is hard because targets were not designed to be approached. At @rdvrobotics we build spacecraft that launch as flat-stacked tiles and assemble themselves in orbit. We assemble the spacecraft in space so they can be sized for the mission and they can grow and adapt after launch. – at Golden, CO

Next week, I'll be at the World Space Business Week conference (WSBW). I'll be speaking about how @rdvrobotics' in-space assembled spacecraft can do more for less: more power, more performance, less launch volume, less deployment risk. Check out my session: Next Stop: In-Orbit Servicing, on Wednesday afternoon. Reach out if you want to meet and learn how we build satellites in space instead of on Earth.

Let’s rendezvous in Paris. 🛸 Meet our Co-Founder and President, @joe_landon Landon, at WSBW, where he will join the panel “Next Stop: In-Orbit Servicing” alongside Adel Haddoud, CEO and Co-Founder of Infinite Orbits; Chris Blackerby, Group COO of Astroscale; and Robert Hauge, President of Space Logistics at Northrop Grumman. 🗓️ Wednesday, Sept. 16 ⏰ 17:25–18:05 📍 World Satellite Business Week, Paris Joe will be sharing what becomes possible when spacecraft are built for the mission, not the rocket, and can autonomously assemble and adapt in orbit. If you'll be in Paris, reach out to Joe to connect and learn more about how Rendezvous Robotics is building the next generation of spacecraft in space. @nvs_summits #WSBW2026 #BuildInSpace #RendezvousRobotics

I'm hiring a Director of Strategy & Business Development to work with me at @rdvrobotics. This person will engage with customers, shape opportunities, run capture campaigns, and bring what they learn from customers back to our engineers. Our modular tiles launch as a flat stack and self-assemble into spacecraft more capable than anything that fits in a rocket fairing. I'm looking for someone who knows how the government buys and has the network to get in the right rooms. America needs larger and more powerful spacecraft. We're building them in Colorado. Link to apply below.

In D.C. this week with @GerryHudak. Meetings at the Capitol and White House complex on American space leadership and what it takes to build spacecraft capable of the missions ahead. Every satellite ever built had to fold up to fit inside a rocket. @RdvRobotics builds spacecraft that self-assemble in orbit, unlocking scale and performance beyond the limits of the rocket fairing.

The Black Flag 100 from @BlackFlagVC named @rdvrobotics one of the most exciting deep tech companies to watch. We're building modular spacecraft that autonmously assemble in orbit into more capable systems than can be origami folded to fit into a rocket.
