BREAKING:
The Royal Jordanian Air Force has struck Syrian territory.
The airstrikes hit ISIS groups in southern Syria according to Jordan. For the first time since Assad’s fall, the Syrian government stated that the Jordanian airstrikes had come without coordination with Damascus. Syria also closed the Nassib border crossing with Jordan in protest.
Around 20 people were killed in airstrikes, including civilians. The airstrikes were carried out in response the deadly Islamist terror attack against a church in Jordan, in which 9 Christians were murdered during a funeral service.

🇫🇷 The French Senate has passed the “Rioters Pay” bill, making rioters financially liable for damages during public demonstrations.
They can be ordered to pay up to €10,000 ($11,000) for property damage, even if they did not personally commit the vandalism.
Liability covers anyone who “knowingly participated” in a group formed to vandalize, or who stayed after two police dispersal warnings.
Social media platforms must remove content inciting violence, vandalism, or insurrection within 24 hours of an authority request, or face blocking and delisting.
To recover unpaid damages, the state can seize parts of social benefits, including family allowances, housing assistance, supplements, and France’s minimum-income benefit.

🇨🇺🇺🇸 The Cuban delegation at the UN got into a shouting match with Mike Waltz after they disliked him showing how children of the corrupt Castro regime officials live their luxurious lives.
US Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz took the podium, held up photos of the Castro family’s luxury lifestyle, and accused the Havana government of profiting off the forced labor of its citizens.
As he spoke, members of the Cuban delegation began slamming their tables and shouting for a point of order.
Tensions peaked when Foreign Minister Rodríguez Parrilla left his seat, walked down the aisle, and charged toward the rostrum, shouting that Waltz was a liar.
Waltz stood his ground and repeatedly ordered the Cuban official to “back up.”
Raising his voice, he said, “This is the United Nations, this isn’t your communist dictatorship. You cannot silence me... He’s not going to intimidate me in the United States of America like he tries to intimidate political prisoners.”
The confrontation grew so heated that the President of the General Assembly suspended the meeting to restore order.

The Kremlin has ordered Apple and Microsoft to store and hand over Russian users’ data to security services
Roskomnadzor, Russia’s state censorship and communications watchdog, added Apple and Microsoft to the registry of information dissemination organizers.
Under the law, they must store data on users’ actions and communications inside Russia for three years and provide it, including the content of messages, to Russian special services on request.
For Apple, this could affect iMessage, FaceTime, iCloud Mail, AirDrop, shared albums, and notes. For Microsoft, it covers messaging, calling, and work services.
If the companies refuse to cooperate with the FSB, they face large fines in Russia and eventual blocking.

I used to review officer-involved shooting reports generated by a D.A. explaining the decision to exonerate officers, and recall often thinking “I mean, could that *really* be how it went down?” I suspected there may be some fog of war or selective memory or post-hoc justification to give the officer a rational justification and paint the victim in a negative, irrational light.
But with the post-2020 adoption of body cams, I now believe it all. There is no behavior too insane for a huge number of suspects when confronted with literally any command by an officer requesting some form of compliance.
Even I thought body cams would shine a light on some substantial percentage of clear officer abuse, but it’s clearly negligible, while dangerous and erratic behavior by suspects is widespread. It is impossible to overstate how wrong BLM and reform activists were on this count.

I have been a successful propagandist, and I have thoughts about this. Believing your own propaganda too much is risky even when it's true, and extremely dangerous when it's false.
This is a chronic problem with left-wing propaganda. In an ideal world, or at least an ideal world from the point of view of a left-wing organizer, propaganda would usefully deceive and demoralize everyone outside the movement while the movement itself remains in contact with reality.
But it doesn't work that way. Really skillful propaganda has the emotional hooks to deceive everybody, including your own people. This divorces them from reality and sets them up for rude shocks when the divorce is no longer deniable.
I never had this problem, because all of my propaganda was written to make the truth attractive to people who had previous incentives to reject it, rather than peddling a lie. Even so, I knew I had to remain skeptical of my own assertions in order to avoid veering off into cloud-cuckoo-land.
The American left doesn't have this luxury. It desperately needs people to believe that the US is a profoundly racist and unjust society in which cops regularly brutalize Black people for no reason. Which...isn't true. Cheap ubiquitous video has demonstrated this.
If propaganda worked out in the ideal way, leftists would successfully demoralize others by making them believe this, but retain the ability themselves to deal with the actual fact that Blacks stopped by cops become semi-psychotically violent with enough frequency to justify much more violence than the cops routinely exert.
It hasn't worked this way. Because "reform activists" get caught up in their own propaganda, many of them are now reduced to crying that police interactions should *not*? be recorded. Which is absolutely not a position that's going to convince anybody outside their own movement. That position looks like it's designed to give activists room to lie about the problem, and it looks that way because it is that way.
I repeat: never fully believe your own propaganda, even if it's nothing but an emotionally compelling presentation of the truth. For that way can lie madness.

JUST IN: The Pentagon has published a remarkable image of China's secretive Shenlong spaceplane in orbit, captured by a Maxar satellite and featured in its newly released 2026 space threat assessment.
The reusable, uncrewed spacecraft launches aboard a rocket and returns to Earth on a runway, similar to the U.S. military's X-37B.
China has conducted four orbital missions since 2020, demonstrating the ability to deploy and maneuver near other objects in space.
The DIA warns that technologies used for satellite inspection and proximity operations could also support anti-satellite capabilities.
China has disclosed few details about the spacecraft's missions or capabilities.
